Hi,im interested in make a cheap and easy-to-build friction drive.Really i dont want to build a super fast and super powerfull kit, just a 10-15 mph in normal conditions, and a helper for the hills, pedalling hard in the hard hills.I have some questions...can i use a ebike esc in a rc motor?what motor its good for this?
I found this in a local store http://www.rctecnic.com/es/tienda/details/1848/30/motores-brushless-outrunner/motores-brushless/motor-brushless-outrunner-emax-bl403010-385kv
and this http://www.rctecnic.com/es/tienda/details/1845/30/motores-brushless-outrunner/motores-brushless/motor-brushless-outrunner-emax-bl402008-520kv
The other question is whats the cheaper esc for this setup?i think that i run the motor with a 5s or 6s.I have heat problems with this setup?thanks a lot and sorry for my english!

i found this in the same shop.I think that dont have sufucient power, and get hop superfast...

true?

I also once tried to build my own friction drive. I had several RC motors from my rc aircrafts lying around but no one seemed to be powerful enought for a suitable friction drive.
I think your motors are a little bit too less powerful because the normal current of 40 A is alittle low.

I bought a set on ebay for 50€:

This could be powerful enough for a normal friction drive. But I also didn't test is yet.

So you think that the motors of my links can be used for this?

No they are not suitable. Both too small and to higher kv.

Look at the motor weight. Find a motor 800g to 1200g range.

kv needs to be low. around 200kv depending on roller size, voltage etc that you plan to use.

There is a massive amount of info on friction drive on the forum. The search engine is your friend. :)

Thanks a lot!And what esc?ebike esc can use with rc motors?cause its really more cheapers...

this one works ok?cause the castle creations its really expensive...the other question is if we can use the friction drives with the motors you recomended with 5s or 6s lipos. Thanks people!
