my name is Edgar and straight up I have no clue about technical stuff but I will always get into it with that let me explain my issue. I purchased a bike kit off a friend from work who's son had just passed now this kit was complete as far as I could tell well I tried everything and it would only turn the display on .I got fed up and purchased a complete controller kit with brakes throttle pas and display also a speed function . it came with basic instructions that's it now when it turns on you can hear the motor spin but it doesn't move I connected the learn wire the white wire from the motor now it wants to move but the throttle stops it as soon as I hit it and it doesn't stop the motor when I hit the brakes and the pas well doesn't seem rite I went through the settings on the controller set it as best I could but for the life of me I cant get it to work right help me out here please

As always. it helps to identify the make of the controller/display. You may have one that others already own

You've disconnected the Learn wire afterthe initial motor movement?

.

oh yeah

its a brain power controller and yes I disconnected it and reconnected it trying it in different spots because its like everything has a white wire connected to them from the controller except for the motor

Hsre's an amazon ad for a brainpower, I had one, but it looks like the learning wire is now green on this model. You can tell what it is, as it's the a pair of connectors that have jusr one wire. DOn't be plugging it into the brake connectors . Brainpower leads.jpgThe idea is to plug them in with power off. When you apply power to the controller, the motor will spin for a few seconds. If it spins in the right direction. then you unplug the connectors and power down. You leave them unplugged.

On your bike, the first time you did it, the motor spun in the wrong direction, It's a geared motor with a clucth, so it was spinning internally. .When that happens, you power down and power up again til it spins properly. Then you disconnect the learning connectors.

Ok I'm going to try that now I actually connected those two wires together I think they r still connected lol could that be the reason that it wants to take off as soon as I power it up

It's still doing the same thing trying to take off as soon as I power it up and the throttle still won't work right or the pas doesn't really work it's just like it's running constantly till I throttle it then it shuts the motor till I pedal then it gets stuck on again I double checked all my connections it's pretty basic doesn't look like im able to connect them wrong and I tried to reset the controller to the settings as they should b with no luck

I was checking the wiring diagram u sent it is the same as mine now this has a cruise control now if it's connected will it interfere with the pas and throttle just wondering cause I just saw that it says to hit the throttle and it would disengage the cruise control and that's what it seems to be doing I'm going to try to disconnect that and see how it works cause I've tried everything else and I know it's something that's simple just that I don't have the experience dealing with this but I'm going to learn

A broken ground wire on the throttle plug (or a miswired throttle) will cause the controller to go into full power. Don't plug in the throttle connections at all and see what happens when you power up.

A few controllers will check for a throttle voltage on powerup and of present, will disable the conrtoller and put up an error message, Also would expect the controller to shut down if brakes are applied, but maybe Brainpower does something else.
