Clever cable lock hides inside seat-tube

Called the interlock. I know if someone wants your bike, a bolt-cutter can defeat most cable-locks, but...I thought it was worth a post.

Looks like it might be adaptable as a theft deterent for a rack mounted battery.

Very convenient and elegant locking solution if a cable is enough for you.

Yeh, bolt cutters would defeat it as would a very small pair of cable cutters that slip into your pocket. If you value your bike never use any type of cable lock. Cheap and easy to defeat are they. Although I do like the idea of how this one stows.

hm, my Dahon folder has a pump integrated in the seatpost, I personally think that's a much better idea...

They should make cable locks with an integrated alarm, something very loud that goes off when the cable
gets cut because, well, a cable on its own is not a good lock...

I can see it now, with people using this with a quickrelease seatpost clamp without thinking of the consequences, and just running it thru the rack and not hte bike. :lol:

If this thing actually had a cable I couldn't cut with a fingernail clipper, it might be worth using. :lol:


(it might take a few minutes, but I bet that I could.)
