Hello, I've decided to get a new controller.
My motor is 12 inch, fat tyre 1000w.
Can I get 1500w controller?
Will it hurt the motor?
Will it go faster than now?
I believe that this motor can be faster, now it goes only 33km/h but it gets there in few seconds and stops accelerating.
Thanks.

top speed depends on several different factors. the settings in the controller, the voltage of the battery and the way the wheel is wired.

you can go for a 1500 W controller but there is no guarantee it will increase top speed.
what kind of controller do you plant to install? one where you can hook up a computer to and make changes?

and is your battery rated for 1500W ? if you go from 1000W to1500W with the same battery voltage, the current will have to increase and your battery needs to be able to handle that.

I plan tu buy Votol 25 controller for permanent, but wanted before that to try it with common Chinese controller rated 1500w. My battery is 25Ah 1600Wh, stock one that came with the scooter is 12Ah, both run on 60V.

its really hard to tell. if your current controller is limiting the rpm of the rear wheel then yes an unrestricted chinese controller could make it go faster. if its not restricted however, then you will have to resort to things like field weakening to increase the top speed. that is something a votol can do but if you get a "common" chinese controller that you cannot get into with a laptop, you might not be able to do.

you could have a look at a VESC bases controller.. they are affordable, and have tons of adjustable settings. also there are lots of good videos out there on how to set them up. I have used them in the past on several projects with very good results.

Thanks, I will try to search them online, but the main problem is my country and lots of sellers don't deliver here or increase delivery costs sky high.

have a look. there are a lot of manufacturars that make VESC based controllers. from american companies to chinese ones .
