Hello there,

I have this nice 24V 600W power supply that I use with my hyperion to charge my 74V8AH lipo:

This power supply is super nice because it only weight 1.3kg (I measured it!) and is able to deliver 600W. Actually my hyperion charge at 40V13A so it's not exactly 600W but I suppose there is some power loss and that's normal.

I'd like to use this power supply as a quick charger I can carry with me to charge on the road when needed. It's lighter and more powerful than the charger from BMSBattery. The equivalent 600W charger from them weight 2.5kg. It's 2 times heavier!! So this meanwell as "road charger" seems to be the way to go.

The problem is to adjust the voltage to make it work with my lipo. If I can adjust it to either 41V or 82V I would be able to charge my lipo on the road.

I've seen these cheap DC-DC converter:

Can I buy 4 of them, put them in series and adjust the voltage output to reach 82V at 600W?

ps: I've seen this thread from DrBass: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=29024 but what he says don't make much sense to me.

What you describe is possible but not with the dc/dc converter that you linked to. That one is not isolated, so as soon as you try to connect them in series you will be shorting everything out.
You need to find suitable isolated dc/dc converters to make it work.

Yep that's getting closer!

I've found that patience helps with finding the right dc/dc converter on ebay, so many surplus units pass through ebay it's just a matter of time till the right one comes up. (the question is are you still looking when it comes up though).

Good luck.
