Cresh's Commuter

nice work cresh. how did you manage with the flats? stop and fix 'em? or can you lock up somewhere and take public transport the rest of the way?

just running your numbers here, you had 368 cycles (754-386)/2 (each way) = 184 days of commuting out of about 235 working days or so? what a slacker... :p

what'd you do on the other days? telecommute? lol.

as for miles, looks like 12148 - 6282 = 5866miles/yr / 184 = your 32 miles per day, using up ~7.34Ah each way. nice.

what's your top speed w/ the 7T?

what's your average speed, or how long does the 16 mi take?

have you been hassled on the bike path? there are a lot of lawyers on the capital crescent trail that dbaker runs, and they actually had a cop waiting for him one day! (and he almost got me but i happened to have slowed way down... lol)

finally, have you started another thread for the borg? what are your plans? motor? batts? controller? wheels? etc?

Snowy commute today, 15 degrees when I left. Pulled brake lever and the cable snapped! At least regen is still working.

the image and gloves in question:

that's crazy to snap a cable. where did it break? at the wheel?

4F low is forecast for Monday night. Tuesday morning will be brutal. Freezing V brake; makes you want hydro disc brakes :|

The other thing I noticed was that the cheapo front shock was useless - it froze too. Made for a very bumpy ride on the ice.

I took them from my other trek mountain bike. Bontrager jonesXR 26x2.25. I like the wide contact patch, it seems to float over the snow.

Yes, I thought about adding some screws to make a DIY studded tire but I just don't think the amount of snow we get around here is worth the effort. Crossing fingers because ice is falling from the sky right now!

Looks like you need a wider pattern light. I have had deer cross in front  I have been using handlebar gloves the past 2 days and they are great :D Thanks for the tip

Glad you like the mitts - which one did you get? We should do another ebike meet up in DC when the weather gets warmer. Maybe I'll have the greyborg done by then...
