First time poster, first time builder, I have been trying to make sure I am getting all the right info without posting a new thread but now am nervous but really want to pull the trigger on a GNG CYC x1 Pro 3000 watt etc, (though I only plan to start with a 36v battery anyways most likely so the 3000w is not a deciding factor, access to info, build quality, expand-ability, dependability, etc is...)
I have a Giant 2014 XTC Advanced+ 2 27.5, I got it for a steal on ebay, almost unused, but realized that I had gotten the wrong type of bike, carbon and press-fit BB92, for my ebike dreams ( https://www.giant-bicycles.com/us/xtc-advanced-27dot5-2-2014) ... But there in come adapters, https://lunacycle.com/pf-41-adapter-for-pressfit-bottom-brackets/ (Is there a better bb92/pf41 to bsa adapter out there? please share!), at this point I am hoping I can use one of these Luna adapters and get a CYC X1 Pro 100mm (Or do I need the 120mm??), and I have come to you all to ask if you think this will work out? I have had many emails back and forth with https://lift-mtb.com/ and they pretty much guarantee that their v3 motor with their adapter will work on my bike but it is a brushed 450w nominal 750w etc, and I want room to expand the power as I am 260lb 6'5 male and live In Los Angeles CA and want to commute over all those hills to work as well as do some trails.... Does the adapter w/ the CYC x1 Pro work? Am I asking too Much? Are there other issues cause I have a carbon frame? I read and read posts, watch youtube, and still I dont know what to do. I think for $950 or so the x1 with its power and newer design may trump the v3 but the v3 is French/Euro made so quality over power? There is little or no info I can find on the V3 and it seems everyone is doing fun things with the CYC x1 this year and it still is "discounted" Please help, mostly I need to know if I can get the CYC on my Giant XTC, do I need the 100mm or 120mm, and what adapter to use? Ill worry about batteries and all that later...? Please Help, Mod if this is wrong place very sorry please move it or let me know what to do. Sorry for the rant. you guys are the best and thanks in advance!
