So the Fury seems much stiffer than my other ebike builds. I have always felt the chainstay flex, even on hardtails. This thing stands tall, lifts the front wheel and you are gone. There doesn’t seem to be any noticable flex at all. Maybe that has a lot to do with the bottom bracket being mounted to the swingarm.

I was riding a lot of downhill back when those things were new, they had a reputation for being heavy and moto-like at a time when all dh bikes were heavy and moto-like, so I'm not at all surprised it makes a good ebike. I'm guessing the battery is on your back?

The battery can be in a frame bag or backpack. I run 14S2P lipo for a 32ah pack in the frame bag for range or half of that pack in a backpack.

Now it seems it is time for new batteries. I just pulled mine out of the bag and one 6s and one 4s 16000mah packs are badly swolen. They immediately went outside in an old wood stove with my other sketchy lipos. They are old as dirt Multistars so I guess it’s time to bite the bullet.

I feel a bit stupid. Oops. I had an 8 speed chain on a 9speed cassette. Of course it is going to slip in the higher gears. I just happened to have a like new 8 speed one here to swap on.
Rear Maxle is toast and the new one is delayed another day in shipping so couldn’t test it out.

I’ll see what I can do for a video. I got the rear hub all fixed and holy cow! This thing is NUTS!! Now that I can use some of the power it is way more fun!

Update: still holding together over 110 miles so far. Set it up for 72v and wow! What a beast. It is the coolest “moped” around. Haahhaha.
