NOTE: ongoing project... Using this information is at your own risk!
My OLED display failed after 18 months. I never used it outside but in the shed I noticed often damp behind the display cover. No wonder the display will eventually fail.

Here you can see the problem: traces eaten away...

The display is not on stock although Grin promised to keep them on stock as long as they sell the Cycle Satiator.
(in a comment of their OLED display replacement video)
So I have to find another solution.

SO... I traced the OEM manufacturer of the display: WiseChip-UG-2864KSWMG01
Details: CLICK

I will order the display from china and keep you posted!

Sorry for the very delayed update! YES, I ordered 2 no-name displays from different vendors, with the SSD1309 driver chip
Be careful to check the specs and the dimensions of the display itself. One display was a bit larger, did work 100% but too large to fit in the housing. my mistake.

I cannot provide a URL, too much change in vendors etc.

Aliexpress specs of the display I bought:

Resolution: 128×64
Control chip: SSD1309
Interface type: 8-bit 68XX/80XX Parallel, 3/4-wire SPI, 12C
Display color: white, yellow, blue three colors are available
Display area: 35.052×17.516(mm)
Panel size: 42.04×27.22×1.45 (mm)
Pixel size: 0.254×0.254 (mm)
Pixel pitch: 0.274×0.274 (mm)
Number of pins: 24pin (plug in 24pin, 0.5mm pitch)
Viewing direction: full viewing angle
Working temperature: -40~70 degrees
Working voltage: 3.3V
Connection method: 0.5mm pitch plug-in FPC

NOTE: Grin was so kind to send me a replacement for free! Still warranty in my case, I did not know that.
Still, I'm glad to know that any display with the specs provided prooved to work perfectly

if there's damp in there, it means that faceplate sticker over it or the gasket for the casing itself, or the ac/charging cable connectors/holes, are not doing their job and keeping it sealed; these should be environmentally sealed units, safe to install on the actual bike/vehicle/etc and use that way, so should certainly be safe in the shed.

did grin have a spare part for whichever one has failed to cause the leak?

thanks for doing the testing and posting the info: good to know the specs for a display that will work if you need one in a pinch.
