I have an elation 300w, got hold of used 500w cyclone to try on my bike but it is ccw,
Question is , how do i change internal controller to cw. :?
Thanks in advance

You could just change using it on the top or bottom of the chain line, rather than changing its direction.

No I dont know how to reverse the directions. I hear it is rather precision soldering.

Thanks D,
But i really want to use it in front of bb, same as elation set up. maybe someone will know how its done.

I don't kow how to do it but I have spoken to Jim Olsen (owner of Cyclone USA) quoted my $40 or $50 to reverse the direction of a motor. He said he used to give the information on how to do it but he said a lot of people damaged the motors so he no longer give out the info.

Its easy. (I often do smd rework as part of my job) - Very Fiddly, but doable. Resistors are just zero ohm links, can be removed with some fine solder-wick and a good temperature controlled iron (and a maglamp unless your eyes are better than mine!).

I did this with my 180W unit. Since you are in Aus, I could do it for you if you like.

Thanks for the info heath and thanks for the offer but i have a friend who is pretty good at soldering electronics and wants to give it a try.
Not sure about the two r8s though, could you elaborate ?
Thanks Trev.

Yeah. Just had another look at my notes - One of those R8's is an R22 - oops.

Make sure you dont use too much heat on these, and when you reinstall the phase wires, don't install too far or they short to the frame - you must test this with a mutimeter - very important!

Short yellow wires are the temperature probe, they must be removed/installed with care - probably need re-tinning and be sure to remove all of the solder from the pads where the phase wires/temp sensor is - it makes reinstallation MUCH easier. Phase wires will also drag on rotor if not reinstalled as before too.

Try this step-by-step instruction with pictures. :p

Hey ,sorry to interrupt this topic but i want also want to reverse direction of a 8kw cyclone kit. This kit was to powerfull for my bike so i am planning to use it for a light motorcycle.

Because the sprocket is on the left side now i want to change direction.

Thx Carl

Ok thats why this site is amazing, search and found the solution. On another page there was a example, I folowed it and guess what it works all fine in the reverse rotation.
Changed the yellow and green fasewire and the yellow and blue wire of the hallsensor.

Thx Carl

Did this end up working well long term? Would you be able to post a pic of the modification and result?
