Are bike tires date coded? Nokian?

If it uses standard codes then this would apply. However, I doubt many bicycle tires used dot codes. Some do though.

No date code on any of the Nokian tires that I have here. Most of bicycle tires don't last very long anyway, and they are thin enough to show obvious signs of aging on shelves.

Nevertheless, I ride one "new old stock" 10yr old 3.0 Gazzaloddi on the front right now and it is still a very good tire. Rubber ages fine on the shelves if it is not exposed to sun light.

Thanks, I've tried contacting Suomi Tyres. I've found a couple of really attractive prices on used tires but would like some sort of measure to use. I can't imagine they aren't coded somehow.

you just fold the sole and look for cracks on the surface of the rubber between the knobs.

There's a circle a like a clock face with a year, an arrow pointing to month, code on Suomi tires.

This is an interesting topic.
Does any one has experience with Schwalbe Marathon PLUS? Do they come with production date?
Their production code is inside the tire. It is 4 digit I believe mo/yr.

From Schwalbe warranty pages,

"Required: The production code is stamped in white ink on the inside of the tire comprised of 5 numbers, one letter then 2 numbers. (Sample: 23107X12) This is NOT the barcode number."

Thanks.
Do I win a visit to Greece! I envy you riding there! What do you ride and would you share where?

An answer from Nokian/Suomi tyres. Nicely translated!
