Different firmware at EN06 and S866 displays

Hi folks,

at most EN06 display, you can choose with P20 parameter beetween protocol 2 and 5S protocol.

But at the similar S866 display it is not possible. Only protocol 2.

Does anyone know, if it is possible to flash a firmware, which allows to choose beetween different protocols, at the S866 display? (Or to transfer the firmware from an EN06 display to a S866 Display?)

I just ordered an EN06 with 5S protocol at Phoebe Liu. There is no stock, so they had to order it themself. They seem to have good relationships to the manufacturer, perhaps you can ask Phoebe Liu, if they can get the S866 with the 5s protocol also.

unfortunately, I had bad experiences with Phoebe Liu. I ordered several SW900 displays with the same hardware, half with protocol 2 and the other half with 5S protocol. And also a programmer for 80 USD with which I should be able to change this firmware. (Which was clearly part of the deal.)

Then they sent me together with the displays two programmers. An USB-TTL with PL2303 chip and some other device.

After everything arrived to me and I asked how it should work, they suddenly said, no, I didn't need that. I grilled them a little more, but they were not cooperative.

However, they also sent me a 5S protocol in txt format.

So i think, it must be possible somehow, probably also via the display port.

That is not nice, of course.
I've ordered at Phoebe Lou several times, the recent order is the first one with some delay....

I just received a coloured SW900 display from this AliExpress shop:

It's firmware is really switchable from No2 protocol to 5s protocol by parameter P20.

Hi stancecoke,

i have now also bought a SW900 display from Ali, but at the display, i get, not possible to change beetwen no 2 and 5s protocol. P20 value only = 0 adjustable, press + or -, no reaction ... :-(

So, the SW900 displays seems to have different firmwares.

But at EN06 display, i can change and it works. But only for one time. After power off with P20 setting changed to 1 = 5S, the display is dark when powered on again. Very strange.
