WOW!!! This discussion is going to shit.

Well, it IS about Chalo, of course things he'd say. Still hasn't reached the level that got him banned.

True that, on a 1 through 10 Chalo scale, we are around 1.5.

But this group is capable of taking it all the way.

Hehe! Above comments made me laugh.. i sort of wished i never jumped into this thread but i guess it was worth it!

let’s try to find the bottom of this pit :D

Lets not

remember formula is gone and is now hiding under a different ES username

Oh, but there's plenty of others, any of which could be formula but he's not the only one. They already are the bottom of the pit, he just wants to see them all work together in this thread, as they do in various troll catcher threads. It does at least take something away from their annoying others.

I’ve considered this as a solution to traffic safety and energy efficiency issues: You can have 40 hp. Put it into whatever vehicle you want. 40hp ebike? Fine. But you have to make do with the same 40 hp in a coupe, minivan, pickup, or commercial truck. That’s one way to take the public hazard out of overweight vehicles. Make them slower the heavier they are. That encourages people to use only as heavy a vehicle as necessary to do the job.
Oh yes ! .. that would do wonders for all those trucks delivering freight(food ?) interstate !
....let alone any trade guy hauling his tools and materials to the job site, ..
...or dad hauling his fishing boat to the lake.!
...or pops towing his van around the Nat Parks !
...Dumb ass, poorly thought through, selfish, idea !

*redacted*

40 hp sounds like fun, as long as it's a bike. Really though, 100 hp per wheel sounds much better to me.

Yes— those goods would have incentives to go by much safer, much more efficient rail when possible.

Autocar manufactured the first commercial truck in the USA, in 1899. That model had from 5 to 8 hp. In 1911, they discontinued manufacturing anything other than commercial trucks. Their current model at that time and for several years afterwards had an 18 hp engine. These models sold well and the company that made them lasted for generations afterward.

You can say limiting roadgoing vehicles’ power sharply is a bad idea, but in that case you must think saving tens of thousands of lives yearly from collisions (in the USA) or many hundreds of thousands of lives yearly (worldwide) and saving most of the energy now dedicated to transportation is a bad idea.

I think all-the-time mass murder and disastrous pollution is a bad idea.

Just now saw this thread. What a shame and loss. I am anti-regulation /moderation minded. I think that society is capable to selfregulate. Chalo seemed like a nice guy and some folks deseve ranting. Totally frocked up situation. Rules are for pussies.
Anyone knows where these guys meet now? (Forum wise)

Meant free speech and expressing yourself freely

So nothing should be done if, for instance, a member announces he's about to go to a school and kill people there?

Of course something would have been needed. However we don't need to be like that cop in MN that kept a knee on that guy's neck until he died. I think that's why it's called moderation.

Maybe we need new methods. I'm still pissed that a new thread was posted under my name without my permission in order to moderate my post. I'm not upset about the moderation, just the method that was used. Maybe a different method would have been appropriate in Chalo's case too.

I don't think there are enough ways with this old software to get offensive posts moved without screwing up the whole thread.

Why not start a new sticky thread in the basement where posts that the mods don't like could be moved to. Maybe call it "offensive posts" or "posts gone too far". Just dump them there, no need to be polite about it either. Just do it. I think the OP would get the hint. Probably good to not allow replies in that thread either.

Just a thought. I'm just thinking out loud. 🙊

I did that.

I did tell two of you beforehand that if you continued I would move your posts into toxic. Because General Discussion isn't the right place for your repetitive hating the president comments.

If you like I can change the title of your trump flu thread to make it clear it was a reply split off from the main topic.

But if you still don't like it and want me fired that's fine and oughta be easy to do. Just complain to the guys whose usernames are in red.

I could use the permanent vacation.

Don't tempt me....

Unfortunately people that do the sort of thing that would earn them a place in such a thread, often don't "get hints", and often don't respond to requests (or demands) that they "behave".

I know you did.

Please notice I never really bitched to anybody about it. I probably would have done the same, but I probably would have done it differently though. The only reason I bring it up now was to suggest giving you guys more tools to do a better or easier way to moderate this joint.

I am not complaining about you at all. In fact I have mentioned to Neptronic and I think, Dogman, what a good job the mods on this forum do.

Thanks to all of you Moderators for doing such a good (and usually unappreciated) job. I really mean this.

BTW don't expect me to change my opinion of trump. He has proven to be dangerous and IMHO is responsible for many deaths. I will continue to point this out every chance I get. I promise to keep it in the basement, but I will reply to contrary views anywhere they are posted. I figure if somebody else is allowed to praise the president's actions, I should be allowed to post my viewpoint too. I think that this is only fair, but I realise that I don't own this board and must bow to those that do.

No hard feelings I hope.

 I usually deserve what I get

As to people not getting the hint... I figure they will sooner or later get tired of their efforts getting dumped every time they post. But you never know. At the minimum it would be one more tool for the Mod's tool belt.

with speech, also comes responsibility and consequence..

In a crowd, common sence always wins and you dont have to do anything. If someone behaves that is not acceptable by majority, hes is casted out of the circle and he is alone. If he wishes to get back to the circle he must show effort. Thats it. The conaequence happens by it self like everything else in nature. When man starts to moderate, everything goest to butthole.
People need to learn to disregard offensive posts and leave it be, or fight back if they cant suppress primal instincts.

Thats what we did after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and then Hitler declared war on the USA back in 1941. We fought back and kicked both of their a$$es.

Moved to toxic since this went in the direction of horse beating, trump, and hitler somehow.

ps - Chalo was given a gazillion chances to stop being a dick on this forum and when he thumbed his nose at the last couple times, it was clear we set an expectation that he was above the rules everyone else is meant to follow, so with no possibility of him changing his behavior, he had to go.

"Somehow?" When trolls are driving, they use their own maps.
