My bbs02 on my cargo bike started grinding on the inside without turning the gear when the rear was in a high gear (13t). I falsely assumed the nylon gear was starting to wear out, in retrospect that would be an all or nothing condition, not a high torque slipping. When I took apart the motor I discovered fine metal shavings in my grease (mobil 22) and an intact nylon gear. When I pulled out the nylon gear I found dozens of fine gouges on my pinion gear shaft where the 1-way clutch rides and the inside of the 1-way looks worn.
After doing some research it appears that you shouldn't grease these 1-way clutches since it can cause the rollers not to grab or to get stuck in the ramps (dumb dumb) but instead you want to use something with little anti-friction properties like ATF.
If using ATF in the 1-way is also wrong, for the love of electrons, somebody stop me!!!!!!!
