Wherever you are, baby.
I have a dual All-Axle, dual Phaserunner, single CA with WP8 splitter cable system. I use 1-3 batteries in parallel, and I only attach 1 battery for small trips.

Do I need to set each Phaserunner to half the Max Current and Max Regen Battery Current acceptable for my smallest battery when the others are not plugged in? Or do I set each Phaserunner to the Max Current settings allowed for the battery? Or something else?

Thanks so much!

If you are only ever using one system at a time, then you can set each system to the max sustainable for the least-capable pack being used on it's own.

If you're using both at the same time, then you'll need to limit them so that in total the pack never experiences higher loads than it can sustain.

Reading more closely, the tooltip in the PR setup utility for "Battery Limits" says set it for a wide range of use if using multiple packs and limit the power in the CA for different configurations. So it seems like the answer is, set the CA to 40A for the single pack in one preset, and then I can get away with higher currents with other CA presets when the other batteries are attached. This tells me to set the PRs to 70A Max Current, as the whole system is 2x 50A and 1x 40A continuous current batteries, (then divide by 2) and limit that in the CA preset for different battery configurations.
