Duct Tape E-Bay Lifepo4s???

Does that price include. Charger and BMS.. the $ 1160 for the 48 10 pack?

IF not about how much the bms and charger ?

However, if your application is for an e-bike - please check Bob & Gary's offering as they are developing a 48V pack that is better suited to e-bike applications.

Best,

Don Harmon

ok i've put a bid through for one of pings packs.... gotta wait till the 24th January for bidding to end till it's finalised.

So worse case scenario... i get anna's pack and pings pack... that way i can compare which one is the better pack.

or

I just get pings pack and as anna's pack probably won't get here!

arbiker is selling a pack of ping's cells here. I am sure he is reliable! http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3157

by the looks of it he is... i remember talking to arbiker501 when he purchased his pack... and shortly afterwards I ordered mine.

Kinda spewing that I got it from Anna... i should've ordered from ping in hindsite!

oh well! I have to run on SLAs for a couple of weeks:(

Is it just me or do you get the feeling that anna is suspended? I don't see anything from her listed and I also noticed that nobody was bidding on her/his stuff.............. The word already out? Let us hope so!

Can't see how these offerings will survive or how it can possibly add to the value of the LiFePO4 market place? If folks think these kind of offerings will somehow force the price down of LiFePO4 packs, they are sadly mistaken. In fact they will have the opposite effect on the market and the offerings of quality packs with complete management systems, chargers, and good warranties will end up benefitting. It's always tempting though to think there has got to be a cheaper solution.....so these various suppliers will continue to pop up on E Bay and other auction sites. It is just the way the world works.

The price of quality LiFePO4 will come down in time of course, but these vendors will not be around anymore, because they really won't be able to compete with the established market anymore.

Best,

Don Harmon

Don... thats a bit of a negative view.

Healthy competition is always great for a market. Sure there will always be sellers who will always try to undercut the competition but thats always been the case.

The view that your stating, if we put it into context with an established market... premium car makers such as Bentley, BMW, etc should be the only ones you should purchase good from and will survive, where as the likes of Hyundai or some cheap Korean or Asian car maker won't survive the market at all.

Not at all! Go and purchase from them....test them and report back to us all. If you have a problem and your pack needs service - please let us all know how you are treated and how fast your problems are solved. We all welcome competition and there is room for many competitors - but they will have to prove themselves just like we do. Ask for their specs. Compare them to us. Ask them for their independent testing. Compare them to ours. Ask them for their Warranty. Compare them to ours.

Fair is Fair my friend!

Don

Definitely agree with you there.

but look on the plus side... at least there isn't like a zillion posts cluttering up the forums with 'Should I buy these ebay duct tape packs' cause now we have a thread with actual member feedback and experience :)

We should sticky this thread! :)

Oh... there will always be a back-channel. The mfrs will sell as much as they can to whoever they can. There is no such thing as an exclusive contract in Asia. To be sure, there will be cheaper factory-seconds, refurbs, b-stocks and total crap. But, price will drop as more product slips out the back door and more factories get built.

Some buyers will always pay for the benefits of the premium lines (ie. military), but the budget-conscious buyers will continue to put price first.

This is a watershed point in stored-energy. When the same chemistry is useful for traction apps, as well as handheld devices, the demand will be unparalleled and so will the response to that demand.

haha yeah thats what i'm planning on doing sam.

I can give you feedback now on the sellers. That is don't buy the packs off anna and also new.journey as they seem to be unreliable and dodgy.

Ping seems to be the reliable seller at the moment. I'm waiting for bidding to end so i can finalise the order so hopefully early feb I get my battery pack (48v 15ah pack).

Ah finally got an email from Anna just now about my battery pack....

"Hi,the itme had shipped, and the tracking number is correct, also i can not check the tracking number,i am very puzzle too.I will contact the post office soon and give you reply asap. Thanks!"

Still hope yet hahaha!!! Must have saw the paypal dispute I put through last week!

That must be you bidding on my pack :D
I emailed Ping to put up that 48v 15AH pack....

I'll have him put up another one after so we dont run the price up on this one.
Or maybe I'll just mail him and see if he'll do another one for the price you get.

I'm getting the goods together to build my first electric bike.
I decided it's a hassle having to shower when I get to work after riding the road bike in.

Don

Yeah I also emailed him on thursday and he told me he was putting up a 48v 15ah pack.

I need another pack to run 96v :)

Volt envy.... GOOD one but true.. I have it to .. I started with 36 and going to move up to 48 as soon as I can..

It is nuts.. Dude you will love your lifepo4 and e bike. I am a regular biker. Although it is not as much of a work out . I get on my bike every day cause it is fun and easy..

I can not wait till it gets warmer.

Has anyone ran two of these DUCt tape pack in a series...

I was curious how well it worked with bms and all the cells.. Mine worked fine alone . However. IF their are 72 cells and different packs and charges.. I would think that is a lot for a bms to handle..

I wanted to try it but am going for 48 volts since i did not have the cash for both and a new controler..

I was just curious if anyone had yet.. I dont think there are many of us who have even used a duct tape pack much less 2 but had hopes..

After many e-mails and a few lies from the seller, I have recieved my batteries. New.journey07 and Anna are definately the same seller (even though they again lied to me and said they were not) Because they are identical down to the same packaging. I am very relieved that I got them safely! Finally. :D

Sorry, I just put one through a shrink wrap trauma (Boy that heavy duty stuff does not like shrinking)

Good packaging.Batteries 004.jpg

Which is more than I can say for some stuff I have recieved.Batteries 006.jpgBatteries 007.jpg

Now for the heavy duty shrink tubing - I would like it tighter but I don't want to heat the batteries too much!Batteries22 003.jpg
