I like scars. Be careful ebiker's, this is what happened to me after I got hit by an eighty three year old man who ran a red light. The world is not ready for electric bikes. :D   .

Damn dude, broken limbs is one thing but a busted open pelvis like that... wow, nasty.
Glad to hear you've recovered from it.
Nice his and hers bike pics.

Damn, that must have sucked more than a bucket full of dicks. Glad you survived the crash and recovered. Titanium is our friend. Nice pics of the Bay bridge and Bay Area. for as much as you like your hardtail geared hubbies, your Phasor will be much more friendly with your medical repairs than a hard tail with the long travel rear suspension.

Thanks Rick and Hyena, for the kind words. Yes, the Phasor is at least a month out from completion. Little bikes are fun, super balanced, they feel right. Allcell 48v 13a batteries (9lbs) in the frame, hardly notice them at all. 25 miles of hard, hilly riding so far still not dead. I also have a high end Santa Cruz DH bike I'm going to use as a parts bike for my next Phasor build. (The orange, Cro motor). I've Got a Backpack 48v 20a Allcell battery and the old Green #1 Phasor controller, throttle, cycle analyst and BMC V4 wheel, I'm having relaced. To put on the Santa Cruz DH bike until David Pearce starts the new frame batch. The more orders the faster he'll start. I should have the Santa Cruz up and running in a couple weeks, I'll post some pics of that soon.

Here's my batteries, ten in all. Just waiting for the BMS, couple more weeks. Then my favorite E-Wizard (Ilia) is going to beautifully wire them in 120v-18a configuration, I think? Still not decided on the controller, Lyon, Adapto or something else? I'll rely on Ilia for that too, he knows way more than I.

So three pack in serial will give you = 37Vx3=111Volts
Then paralleling them three will give = 5800x3=17.4Ah
9 Packs in total.
What will pack number ten do?

Yes good eye, and catch Rix. I will have to buy two more battery packs. Two more will just barely fit with the BMS for a total of twelve in the frame and most likely a big 24 fet Lyon controller on the outside. I better stop now, I'm starting to get wood, just talking about it!

This is true Allex, but hot off of a balance charge, 30s will come in at 126 volts or 124 volts for bulk charging with monitoring and not using a BMS.

Kike, adding another 10s for 40s for a total of a 168 volts hot off the charger is just insane. Even the Electricito Corse guys aren't running that high of voltage. B.R.U.M, if you are out there reading this, tell us what you think. For those that haven't read yet, Brum is running a 135 volt 250Ah Phasor with a cromotor in Rome and Citavecchia. Good for 115Kph or about 72MPH. Power wheelies at 40KPH which is really phenominal when considering his build is running 26MTB wheel/tire combo. I am wondering what he would think of 40S. One thing is for sure, not even a 24Fet with 4115s are going to work for 40s.

IMG_20140307_095023.jpgThis was my commute this morning. Hope to do it by Phasor in the future. Beautiful sunny day. It's been raining, we really need it. Went for a ride on the orange V3 (toy bike) at lunch time. Pumped out some good miles, 71F degrees today. Awesome ride, good for mind. Better than food. Also took a picture of the DH Santa Cruz donor bike. Big brakes and suspension.

Actually, the batteries should be running at 126v and 111v nominal. 30s-3P (30x4.2 = 126v) or about 120v 17.5a.

Okay, thanks for clarifying.

Foot hills east of Folsom, I used have friends that were stationed at Travis AFB and lived in Vacaville. Loved mountain bike that area when I would go and see them. This was quite a while back when Ebikes were only powered by SLA and Nicads, and down hill bikes had a whopping 3 inches of front travel only.

Go the addapto. With the BMS soon to be released its as good as they come. The 'launch control' on the controller make having a crazy fast ebike easy to control. The main thing i like though is the bike becomes dead silent. No little buzz or anything. You can still reach 100km/h easy with 20s too due to the field weakening(OVS) feature. Its also the size of an 18fet but the power of a 24fet.

Yup,
Adaptto vs Infenion(lyen and others) is like:

This weekend we held our Perth electrickhana with most production EVs being represented. A pity that Zero Australia wasn't there.

Perth stealth wasn't there which was also a shame I'm sure they could have sold one and spread the word.

Both my Phasors were a success with plenty of questions after a ride. Even had one lady take the blue Phasor for a spin.

I enjoyed riding a Hyosung EV conversion. It had a golden motor mid drive with a 400 amp controller running at 75 volt.

question for the experts (or anyone who knows more than me)

one of the batteries ALWAYS takes 45-60 minutes longer to charge..if I let sit overnight, SAME battery needs ANOTHER 45 MINUTES to charge...BUT when I check voltage both say 58 volts....not sure what the issue is?..one bad cell?..charger issue?..this stuff is still all new to me...I have two chargers, one for each battery they are wired up in a way where the same charger always charges the same battery :?:

Could be internal resistance from the battery, could be a slight variation in the chargers, or it could be that one battery has a slightly better capacity than the other. I have seen some variance in cells and lot productions. Its not uncommon for to have cells that have the same rating from different lot number production and one lot # will be a little bit better than the other. I have seen this with my RC Helo Lipos as well as my RC Crawler lipos. To narrow it down, you could use the same charger on both and time it to HVC cut off.

I've just ordered a 4115 mosfit controller.

This should solve your 24s problems, just keep the controller on the outside of the frame like you have been doing.

Thanks for all the input on controllers. I've been talking with David Pearce of Phasor frames. He's starting a new batch of frames, the parts are being cut. Then he'll start the parts that need to be CNC'ed . After that he can put them in jig and weld them up. You can't rush true craftsmanship! David said he was considering doing a Cro motor build, for himself. With one of the new frames from this next batch. Also keep an eye out for a new web page, soon to be up. Should make ordering more user friendly.
