E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

I've been reading all the great feeds. Hoping to get Rix to do a couple wheel builds for me, like your work. Very impressive! I like the Yamaha playbike 19 inch. I've been beating the crap out of my V3 orange (toy) bike, waiting for a flat. Slimed tires. lots of glass and jacks torns, nothing yet. The bike themselves are cheap $325 US. Batteries and Wheels cost a lot more! Anyhow surprised I haven't cracked a frame. With everything that's happened to me flying down hills at 37.6 MPH on tires like that is unnerving. Plus the frame could snap or a giant pothole folds a rim or anything. Phasor site I know, But I wanted to post a pic of my new Back pack with quick disconnect, on the orange bike. I got 35 miles with lots of hills doing between 22mph and 32 mph and never hooked into the frame pack. 60 to 80 mile range, with the frame pack. Not bad, and fast with hills! (pedal assist) I am kinda strong can pump when I have to.  Rick if you see this private message me and give you my cell phone. Thanx!

D.O.T. speed rated tires on strong rims would make me feel more confident for sure. Of course on a DP Phasor frame!

Hi Guys sorry for my absences on the forum I'm sure I wasn't missed that much Ahaha but let's get to the point! I have just come back from a very productive tour of China and I am proud to announce I closed a supplier contract with a Panasonic battery provider meaning I have full shipping rights for highly flammable lithium polymer and lithium phosphate cells into Australia!! I have a promotional trial run of a battery pack of 90 volts nominal at 21 amp hours with 110 volt 4 amp charger included........ Plus a purpose built BMS Inclued!! Now you must be thinking what's the catch? Well here it is a price of $1250 AUD

DH Santa Cruz with V4 Backpack battery.jpgHi Here's my donor bike. DH Santa Cruz with 8 inch triple fork and 8 in the rear, wide bars, big breaks, nice rims. Very cush, it will be a shame to break it down. For my #2 Phasor build. I used the old V4 BMC and BMC 50a controller coupled with an Allcell 48v 20a backpack battery good for 30 miles

Sounds good what's the dimensions

Is that a typo ? If not that's a terrible 1C rating and you'll be disappointed with any motor you run on that. You need atleast 5C if you want good power, or in a battery this size atleast 3C so you can pull 60 amps.
I take it that's lifepo4. Why not 18650 li-ion ? Panasonic have some good high C rate cells (even the ncr18650pf)
Also are those dimensions right ?? That's an exceedingly large pack! 800mm long ?!
And 90v nominal seems like a bad choice - the hot off the charge voltage is too high for 4110 mosfet controllers so you have to run less efficient / lower current 4115 models, but then the voltage under load is barely any higher than what you'd get with a good 23S li-ion / lipo pack so you're not getting the advantage of running ~130v
Lastly, Australia runs off 240v AC! So that 110v charger is useless to you.

Sorry mate but in short everything about this battery is wrong/inadequate/bad :(

Thank you for the feed back i will discuss with them what you have just told me and we can re-design a battery pack that is more adequate for the ebike systems we are running. Please if you have any other suggestions please help me out! i sure need it :)

So after a very frustrating emailing session and badly translated product brochure I have managed to explain what I am looking for properly. So the packs are now deprecated into two segments with a total length of 525mm. Lithium polymer cells with a 40C burst rating and 5800 mah in 24s4p configuration. The price has drop quite substantially so I guess that's a bonus of sending angry emails Ahaha. Did I miss anything??

Oh and the charger was rated to 110 volt and 5 amps output Ahaha whoops that was my mistake :?

That's much better! That battery will deliver the power you need to get enjoyment out of a big motor and controller combo. I take it they're building it with a suitable lipo BMS ? Ensure that they are and check what the cell level HVC and LVC is set at. They'll likely try and just use a li-ion BMS which will allow the lipo cells to drain down too low. You can partially correct for this by setting your CA LVC higher so the BMS never trips unless something seriously goes wrong (ie set it at 3.5v/cell)
Your charger is still wrong though! Australia uses 240v AC. Everywhere.
Make sure you specific 240v or check that it has a switch to select otherwise you'll blow it up as soon as you plug it in.
Bulk chargers are cheap enough but you still want it to work out of the box.

Double check every detail before proceeding and be careful with what you're signing up or paying for with this 'supplier contract'. It's good to see you're keen and jumping in with both feet but there's alot of dodgy Chinese suppliers out there and the fact these guys have already tried to stiff you with the crappiest, most inappropriate battery on the planet should set off warning signs. It's also odd they've switched from being a panasonic battery supplier to using no name hobby RC cells...
I guess alot of battery companies build with all sorts of cells though.

Hi Gang, Hope you are all well. Just spoke with DP, He said his next batch of frames are coming along. Think he's getting ready to paint mine. Awesome Orange. He has new panels too, aluminum for $60.00 more (I think?). Check his web site.

Kike thanks for those words. I didn't realise that I'd had such an impact on people. As Rick said I still have my white Phasor and I'll still remain active on the forum if any advise is needed.

Phasor #2 (orange bike cromotor) update, my frame is almost done. DP said it will be done in 3 weeks. Still waiting for the motors to get in from (Cromotor) Greyborg USA.com should be here soon. Also having Rix do a MC wheel build for me. Thank you Sir! I want to compare apples to apples. Cromotor vs Crown motor running the same set ups. Same batteries and controllers ect....

A couple of months back my phase wires on my cromotor v2 cut causing my controller to blow. This was partly due to not having enough distance between my rear disc brake and the frame.

Since then I've been running a 9c at 48 volts until my new controller arrived.
So I've purchased a 18 fet 4115 controller.

Today I shrink wrapped my 3 phase wires and also cut a piece of pipe in replace of my original C-washer. I've cut the pipe 15mm in length and it's under the shrink wrap.

15mm pipe

The 15mm pipes under the shrink wrap.

Just put the 24 inch on the front.

Rod, it looks tight now even with the 20mm of pipe. no wonder it cut the cable without it. good luck mate. the 18x4115 controllers are pretty sweet. i know you went through this before but will you reprogram it to 60amps or so. i run mine at 60 but that bike only gets up to 60kph with the ht3525 so not much stress on it once im moving. what battery will you have on there?
