E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

We have hoon laws over here. Someone that drives like an idiot. That's my 17 year old daughters discription, were not aloud to spin the wheel over here maybe its more tolerated elsewhere. And yes hoon, holigan do have the same meaning. I took off like a rocket at the lights, I was on a shared path. A V8 gave chase and not realising that there was a paddy wagon a few cars back. It caused them to look but didnt stop.

We don't have "Hoon" Laws per sei, but we do have laws like "Excessive Acceleration" and "breaking traction", it covers Hoon activity.

Fk that man. Keep riding it like you stole it. No one article is going to ruin the world wide fun

Words of wisdom. Hopefully it's not your wife and kid that gets mowed down by some expert on a shared bike path doing 80kph.[

I never said i was "some expert" mate.

contain your accusations and nip picking.

Hey now, leave my man Kepler alone. You never said you were "some expert" I am saying your an expert, only an expert can ride wheelies like that. Do you disagree?

Hey Aussie guys, whats up? What does "Hoon" mean?
Yeah hooligan is probably a good parallel, with perhaps less negative connotations ? To me I think of guys out stooging around in their cars doing slightly illegal things but really not bothering or hurting anyone. Eg innocent traffic light drag races up to the speed limit, kicking the tail out on your rwd car when pulling out of a side street in the wet when no one is around etc. Probably anyone that owns a V8 or a performance / muscle car. The line is crossed though when you start doing stupid shit - racing in public or at speed, doing burnouts in a built up area, around people etc. This is what the Aussie media go to town on and I guess what most people have come to associate with hoons. Perhaps more "automotive larrikin" ? Actually, I think larrikin is an Aussie term too so that probably doesnt help. haha.
Or maybe I just have a softer view on it as a self confessed (slightly) reformed hoon :p

I think most people I've ridden ebikes with are what I'd call hoons.
Rick, you're a hoon. Rod, you're drag racing V8s, you too. Kep, you own (or used to) a V8 and more than doubled the stock power of your bomber. HOON

Back in my motorcycle days we called the hooligans SQUIDs (Stupidly Quick, Underdressed, Imminently Dead).

Don't know if that term is still used with the younger folk.

I resemble that remark  still here though. Do you remember way back in the day, before we called them squids, they were called pilgrims?

All this talking about Hoons, makes me want to get another tattoo, I can see it in lights now, "KING HOON" hell, this could also double as pornstar name  . Or "KING OF THE HOONS" that sounds like a champion Gladiator's name  Or EL HOONARINO if latin sounding is your cup of tea/pint of beer. Think I'm on to something. Anybody else feeling this? If I win the lottery, coming down under guys and my goal will be to make Australia's top 10 most wanted Hoons list.

It turned out he was Phil Pozderac, ex defensive lineman from the Cowboy's football team in the 80s. He's in his 50s now. That's my friend Robert standing next to him. Phil was riding a home build, that he said he built. Don't worry I got pictures. It's some huge ass beach cruiser with a 1000w kit motor. He said it was 52v. He's got the biggest seat I think you're ever going to see on an eBike.

I ask him if he's heard of Stealth, and said he has, but they're too little for him.

Thats not a seat, thats a lazy boy recliner. Big don't describe it.

TV cool story. Did you run some plays with him to relive the glory days? "hut hut..............."

Had a nice 20 mile ride on the purple tosser..... SB178...... Found my CA was out of calib for wheel size...... gps says tops speed reached 43mph...... ca say 38..... I'll get that fixed up today.
I can't get over how the old sb178 is just a different bike in feel/wgt.....and the tq curve of the older motor is so different than the sb744....... I like em both... but funny how the eng/des/mfg changed over time..... would be curious to pick their brains over some beers about the evo of these bikes... was it due to supplier issues? Cost? performance? eng changes...... or did this just happen slowly in a non deliberate fashion?

I've got a boat load of stuff coming in for the flux-alpha build..... coming in...... this is my fav part of a build..... when all the shizz arrives from all over the world...... a man in a big brown truck drops off the booty...... and I hide out in my shop for hours/days/weeks on end....... tinkering....... in between trips to the mall with my other half.... and running the dog to poo-hill to do her business......... living the dream. I'll post up some pics once it is worth seeing.

Bigbore how is your bomber running with your new qs205v3? I'm thinking of purchasing one but I've read other people also have problems fitting some don't even use rear break would the V2 fit better thanks BB and other stealth Riders for any information to help me get back 2 ripping around town streets, train tracks, sides of Canal's, backyards all fair play

Street riding tips buck up take more room don't pedal near intersections look far ahead always have Escape Route don't hesitate they will cut you off get to know UPS drivers Save amp hours draft don't care about other people's View how you're riding because there View is not reality have fun be safe wear protection full face helmet gloves a must remember you're not a bicycle and you're not a motorcycle yet you are both combine the skills and you will survive over 7000 miles commuting ridiculously fun no gas no fumes Joy!!

First of all you have to remember that I've been riding a modified Bomber with about double the peak power of a stock one, at 10kW power I was able to overheat the stock 5403 air cooled within few minutes of aggressive off road riding, climbing steep hills or in deep sand.
Now I have the feeling that the QS 205 4T 11Kv that I chose delivers more torque at the same power with less heating than before with 5403.
But let me see what I will find out at the max power of my Adappto Max-e because for the moment I've been running a conservative Boost mode at 140A bat current and 280A phase current; with this setup I've been pulling wheelie under acceleration every time I smash the throttle, like this evening in a short pine forest trail ride

JumperJackFlash said:
Bigbore,

Do you recommend 9kv for QS205V3?

That was my biggest dilemma and at the end I chose the winding 30X4T 11.39kV because I read that a motor with high speed and the most copper fill should deliver the biggest amount of power without overheating if used with a small tyre like I have with the motocross tyre at 616mm diameter.
Note that now I'm trying the Vee Rubber VRM021 2.75-19 that has a diameter of 624mm and Halo Contra 24X3.00 has a diameter of 654mm.
I guess that only a person that have the opportunity to try both 9kv and 11.39kv can tell which one deliver the most torque riding his e-bike in the same trails in the same way.

Dunno if you guys have see this....

Pretty cool zero FX tested in freezing temps by aerostitch... Big write up/ blog about it..

Ahoy (from the other colonies... hehe)
You guys are famous! On a long-standing thread on the web forum Endless-Sphere.com... Watt I suspect you know already. :)

Anyway... news from England: http://www.oxygenbicycles.com/why-o...eive-oxygen-e-mates-for-use-at-raf-lakenheath

... watt many on ES (Endless Sphere) might see as a "lame" ebike... in Stealth terms. Hehe So though Stealth might want to "kick it up a notch" maybe? And present the US troops in the UK with a "real" ebike to "knock their socks off".

Anyway... just a thought.

Hi L,
Thank you for sharing the news. We will see what we can do to straighten them out.
Thanks,

This Hoon stuff is interesting, didn't expect a lesson in culture from an e-bike thread, but I like it. No offense but isn't Australia a country founded by criminals?

Home of one of the most celebrated criminals Mark "Chopper" Reed?

"Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."

We all must be saints...(ask the American Indians about the Americans, the Americans about the Brits, the Chinese about the Japanese, the Japanese about the Chinese).

Every saint has a past and every sinner a future.

Just got word my vboxx is rebuilt by sun tour Taiwan for my bike!
I was quite pleased with a 3 clam repair bill.

On a scale what is worse a hoon a punk or a thug?
Thug has been tossed around the colonies lately.

The difference between a thug and a hoon is the thug always victimizes someone in the commission of a crime, the hoon, just violates laws without intent of victimizing someone. Yah, that shit sounds legit..

Glad you got your Vboxx repaired. Its the heart of the Bomber. Need it for the swingarm to be attached, so the motor and wheel can be attached so you can go.
