Some more progress on the project. Pretty much just waiting on the painted frame and bits.

Dog knocked over my new SB..... cracked the magura brake lever..... chunked the end clamp, and pedal...... time to get a proper ebike stand for the heavy SOB's so my dog does not get squashed.

Curious what stand you go with. I picked up a cheapo Harbor Freight stand this weekend, put it together, and of course it was too wide, even adjusted for smallest width. Doh! Should have measured.

Imo this Honda CR80 stand is the best kick stand I've seen for a Bomber. It's not the sexiest looking, it's just the best, because of it's mounting location, and superior functionality.

No concerns with "tweaking" the swingarm in an impact with the kickstand?

When I looked at the close-up, I thought that using a flat plate to spread the load in an impact might help. Maybe unnecessary?

This stand is extremely robust for our little bikes. If you impact this stand hard enough to hurt it, you're going to have damage on a lot more parts than just this stand.

I've never seen this stand deploy unexpectedly. Maybe if you jump a couple of cars or something. If it ever comes lose, it just wasn't bolted on tight enough. I glued gasket material inside the clamp to protect the finish on the swing arm.

My new seat support turned up today
It would appear arther,or halfer job powder coated mine
Y would not do it properly
Its got more welds around and its thicker

Is it the heavy duty seat support?

At the beginning of December last year I broke my seat support also and at Stealth Bikes they told me the warranty is only for the first buyers .... I needed to buy the following options:
regular EUR 87.00 plus shipping
heavy duty EUR 123.00 plus shipping

..... But I decided to fix it for myself .... what a pita

I've made a plate out of 2mm sheet metal

The worst part for me was to remove the old paint.
After welding the plate inside with a core flux welder I decided to remove the old paint due to the burned spots near welds and it was the baddest idea I have ever had! It took a couple of days and considering that the weather was good I was very pissed off .... instead of riding the Bomber I was stuck at home fixing it

And this is the seat post support ready to be powder coated again ...

This is what it looks like after powder coating. Now that I've ridden some km on it I think I have made a good job.

TV - I found a $30 moped kickstand on feabay. I'll post up if it works.

Jim - My SB seat frame came apart, I had it rewelded like yours. I also noticed my new SB744 has 3mounting holes along the top edge to spread the load between 3 bolts and NOT only 2. Mine pulled apart due to stress concentration of only 2 bolts.
I might also install a spreader plate as well to better dist the load.

The beads look a hair side on being cold, but with that plate, should hold just fine. When I welded up my original triangle, I didn't gusset it at all and it held until my heavy duty unit arrived. I think there is a pic of it posted somewhere back in the 200-300 page area. You repair looks good.

I bought a set of RST Killah Trip Crown forks form fleabay, and the shaft is about 1.5" too short for the stealth head-set.
Is there anyway I can order a longer head-set shaft to fit these forks to my stealth?

The forks fit the head-set OK,,, just only 1" sticking out above the head-set/frame.... so stock stealth bar mount no worky.

OK so it looks like I need a "direct mount" for my bars to make these forks work.... (I'm such a modern mtn bike newb!)...... I used to be king of after market BMX stuff in 1983!

That may work as your fork steering tube is too short, but the one thing I like about running the regular stem on these forks is the increased clamping area on the tube to keep the upper triple clamp snugged against the headset bearings.

Anyway if you are lucky your batteries could still be saved, unless they has been sitting on 0V for a while.

Allex, its funny and several people think I am full of $h!t, but the RSTs that came on my Fighter were way better than the RSTs that came on my Bomber. The Bomber RST had tons of stiction and the rebound and compression knobs were completely useless. The RSTs on my Fighter were smoother than my 888 Zochs, rebound and compression worked, and I was able to dial this fork perfectly for my weight and ride style. If I would have blown the forks and was able to get spare parts like slider bushings, I would have rebuilt it instead of going to the MRP Groove 180s. That said, said, I lived near Emmett, I would have had him re-valve my Bomber fork and repair my Fighter fork. Still got them, may see what I can do. Anyway my point is, its possible that One4TQ actually got a good RST like I did and thats why he likes it better than the DNM. Also Stealth Hurricane Factory Rider Jack Field can have any fork he wants, and he chooses the run the RST. Apparently there are some good ones out there.

But only if he had some real forks.....

I'm all ears on forks qualities, price point, etc..... totally newb to this stuff. I just love building things and mod'ing them, and rebuilding, and riding.
So teach the newb.
