Here is the description of all I've done to mount the QS205 to my Bomber.
https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=62650&start=225#p1165502

I want to use e-brake as my main braking system so I designed a pair of torque arms that have been working very well. These are the parts that I designed and then I commissioned by a tooling shop:

This is a plastic sleeve that I designed to fit the motor shaft that I added to prevent the wires from rubbing on disc brake bolts:
20160306_134950_1.jpg

Then I added 5ml of Statorade at my QS205 and that black stuff works very well.
On flat road after reaching 115°C at 8-9Kw the temperature drops quickly (at about 85°C within a minute or so) as soon as I limit the power at about 7Kw.
On deep sand I noticed a considerable improvement over the motor without the black stuff.
I need to climb some steep hills to see what I have there but unfortunately for the moment I'm off with Max-e controller under repair at the factory.

If anybody needs the same parts to mount a QS205 on a Bomber I can ask the tool shop to make another set of parts ..... that isn't cheap

I guess a stock Bomber (at 5Kw) should not be able to overheat a qs205.

Thanks for the info!! very helpful! Im going to take some time and go through it all tonight… I too have found that statorade is helpful but still the motor gets too hot. Granted I'm beating the crap out of it and its been about 100 degrees out… I was thinking of going full liquid cooled to see if I can't get the temps down even 5 degrees. I have upped the rollback to 105-135. I have also noticed that the controller gets quite hot I will check it outside and see what its reading. More pics to come.

that first step is a doozy!! But its all down hill from there…..get it??? see what I did there?? the joke??

Thank god for that adjustable seat post!
On another note I just ordered a set of race face bars for the unit.. a little wider, taller and more sweep. Those flatter stock bars gotta go..

@ABV, yah thats a gnarly drop off. Nice pics, thank you for posting.

@Simone, are those custom parts for sale, or are they just one off? I would be interested in getting a couple of them if you could fai succedere. I understand if you can't though.

On another note, had a fantastic day at the Tesla expo. Stealth had a strong presence and I was there with the Tahoe Stealth Dealers, Aaron and Anthony along with me, arranging demos and test rides. We had the U.S Stealth Guys, Mark and Braden inside the expo building doing there thing while we were outside doing speed runs up and down the main entrance point. Every time we passed the windows, people were tapping other people on the shoulder and pointing out the window when we did flybys. The test rides were in "ECO" mode which was basically US restriction. One older guy, like my dad's age, wanted to test ride. We set him up. Right before he took off, he said he had just test ridden a zero MC. So I told one of the Truckee Dealer guys to change the settings to unrestricted which one of them did. The guy took off, came back, loved it, and started asking Qs about buying one. The Truckee guys gave him a hat, he took his hat off and started wearing Stealth hat and walking around the expo. He kept pointing outside, which sent us more inquiries. I should have taken a pic of this guy smiling with a helmet on. He was happy. Like I said above, was a good day, and glad I got to be involved with Stealth.

Yah, it was funny, I was demonstrating that 9th gear on the Vboxx was tall enough to pedal assist at 50MPH.

Just barely on flat. At speed downhill (59mph) I was no longer able to assist the motor anymore. Still pretty awesome.

In front there is anything, the caliper is mounted on the fork, at the rear there is the caliper mount that you can see here:

I don't know more about it because Allex did mount the brakes on the Bomber

Thanks bud
i will do some more searching or can you help out Alex?

You will need hope mount G for the rear brake, but the front is a little harder, it all depends on what fork you have. Most modern double crowned forks does not require adapter.

Thanks Allex already got one on order!!,
just returned from a ride and i have gearbox issues i have lost 1st 3rd and 5th gears theres nothing there at all no clicking just smooth rotation of the crank i tried to adjust the cables while i was out but made no difference ???, anyone any ideas ?? the good news is i topped out at 53mph but i need a qs250 just need more torque

Will the the QS205 motor work with the original Crystalyte controller?
In a pinch I'm sure you can, but you wont be driving the motor much. Default controller is only rated at 50A. And the motor can handle 3 times as much no problem. Kelly, Sabvoton and Adaptto are the go to controllers for the QS205

I know where you are going with this, strip the frame down for repairs, and mod the hell out of it. Oh Yah!!! Feeling it!!! The Adaptto does work and works well with the 5403 motor as Allex has demonstrated some very impressive performance gains, even with the stock battery. Allex, assist on this, I know with the adappto MAX e running with the 5403 you hit 116km/H, or about 73MPH, I also know it got hot, but it does work very effectively right?

///Edit, or was that with your custom battery? Eitherway I remember you did run the MAX E with the stock battery and it performed significantly better.

been back out again this morning and my Vboxx is still playing up if i roll the shifter back and forth i can get it to almost drop into first it kind of catches but doesn't lock in and drops out again it feels like it needs adjustment to make the clutches inside drop into place anyone any ideas i so hope i haven't got to strip the f**king thing again ????

Hey, question for all those with older model Fighters/Bombers with a CA.

My CA is long gone (re-purposed) and I've been putting a red LED temp display in it's place.
For a long while now I've just stuck some clear plastic off some packaging over the slot, and while it does the job, it looks pretty terrible and isn't overly water tight.
Here's an older shot. I've since replaced the buttons with round ones and no longer have the voltage output on the left.
file.php

So I wanna do it properly and put some glass or similar in the slot permanently.
I have some tempered glass lying around and a dremel...but knowing nothing about this, I don't know if the whole pane will just shatter when I try and cut out a small part.

Has anyone else replaced the CA with another display or clear panel?
What did you replace it with and how did you get it to fit?

Cheers

Do you have play in both shifter cables? If not, screw the barrel adjusters until you do. If the barrel adjusters are already turned down as far as they will go into the shifter, knob, then pull the cover off and the vboxx and give the cables a tiny bit of slack. You want your cable housing to slide back and forth about 2mm between the shifter knob and Vboxx. This ensures the cables are tensioned and blocking transmission alignment when changing gears. Now if this is not the case, I have no idea what the problem is.

Hi Rix,
i only have slack in one of the cables which sounds like what my problem is could you explain a bit further on how to apply slack to the tight one please,
big cheers for your help

I would go with Polly Carbonate Much easier to work with than glass. And much much tougher. And yes a dremel will Not work. Hardened glass will just explode.

A guy on the FB page put his behind plexiglass and covered the entire top of the frame. With the metal buttons I think it looks great.

The image is probably big so you will have to click on it directly.

18 beers, bloody fingers and the mouth of a sailor later cursing the design and ease of maintenance of the v-boxx. I won. Now to get this frame shipped off to the land of Chopper and Mad Max.

Thanks Rix for all the tips (via PM and email)

You are more than welcome. Like I said, we middle aged ebikers got to stick together, not that all of us regardless of age aren't part of the scene.

Forget about the question I asked you in the email, 18 beers, that whats going on

RIX = glue that holds this motley lot together. thx commander RIX sir.

Total mx bike NEWB observation today...... I always ride in hard dry packed clay..... and I never realized how much MORE grip you can get in damp dirt/clay.... HOLY COW... today I rode on the soft moist stuff.......the terra firma actually becomes part of the suspension (if that makes sense to anybody)....... the grip around turns at speed is way better..... actually can control the push understeer with throttle, and body english....
