E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Ok guys need some help with setting my bomber back to a slow machine..

My bike was never limited as it is internal to Australia, so never had a wire to cut...

Ok, I popped into the CA setup and limited the current and speed (6Amps and 10kph) so that i can test this....but this did absolutely nothing...

Ok I popped into the Advanced Setup section and altered the "Aux Voltage Function" to first limit speed and then tried limit current...again absolutely no difference..

The bike accelerates at full wack as it did the first day I got it...

Any ideas guys !!

Just limit the Amps not speed as it will make it jerky.

I suspect a problem in the CA or wiring of it . If you unplug the CA the bike will run just fine but at full power and use the battery's BMS to limit amps.

As long as you saved the setting in the CA and they stayed set then that's my call.

Rix where would a guy find a 5404 sounds like a great upgrade...

I went through alot of crap to get this motor. I won't rehash the details here, but will send you a PM. If speed isn't a concern and you want even more range than what I am getting with the 5404, get the 5405. More torque, and probably still get 37-40MPH out of it. Anyway check your PM.

Dunkenbliths, why would you want to slow you Bomber down? Help me understand. :?: :?:

hey Rick

just need to keep the power down as it seems the cops
are getting smarter recently and just want to de-power
it while I commute to work, or at least have the option too...

I do ride safe and blend in well with the other bikes,
peddling most of the way...and I do love the power and its a
fantastic bike, but pumping out 5500watts is a little more than the 200w
limit in this country... while I'm riding on the bike paths... ;)

If thee CA is reading volts, amps, ah, and speed, everything is being picked up out of the controller and relayed to CA. If none of the limits are working but your throttle works fine, then the override signal from the CA back to the controller is not working. It's going to be be a broken wire or bad connection and not so easy to fix.

First think check all the plugs from the CA to to controller. There will be a 6 pin jst plug between the CA and controller. Unplug it and re plug it in. If that doesn't work, the controller and CA need to be removed and opened up will all connections belled out. You will need to understand the way the CA overrides the throttle within the controller to repair it yourself.

Personally, if you can't fix it, I would look at removing the controller and CA and sending it back to Strealth for investigation. Alternately, there is enough information on this forum to work out how the CA controller relationship works and with a bit of research, you will be able to work it out. There is nothing too difficult and special here with the Bomber. The CA and controller relationship is the same as any home built system.

If you need some direction with wiring diagrams, let me know.

Nice pic of your bomber in the snow DH paule. As Kepler said that's a pretty foreign sight to us here in Australia.

Now, there's too much chat going on in this thread considering this is the photos and vid forum, so here's a vid to get things back on track :p
This doesn't properly convey the feeling of acceleration of the bike now but you get a bit of an idea. I basically can't use the power on these sorts of trails, as soon as I get on it I'm hard back on the brakes again.

I got my wolfman euro bag looks like it will work perfect for a little trail bag. I am going to be working on a rear rack to carry more things not a ton. I am looking to use it for camping if I want or small trip that I need to bring some gear. The rear supension has plenty of extra travel being I am not that heavy. I mean might bog down the power but I plan on pedaling most of the time.

Remembering my bike already peaks at 5500W and over 85kph (over 50mph).....(as it was shipped inside Australia and isnt limited)

OK Looking inside, there is no 6 pin plug...as you can see there is a little red link and a two wires coming out the box...
one has a "power connector on the end" and the other disappears down into the bike wiring..

Any ideas ?

There will be a plug further down. You will need to remove the battery. Follow the cable from the CA down towards the controller. It may go under foam rubber layer so you may need to peel it back. Check the plug but I am tipping it will be broken throttle override signal wire that has disconnected either at the CA or at the controller.

It may pay just to get in contact with the SA rep and discuss the issue with him.

Hi Dunk and hopefully Stealth USA READING THIS FORUM,

Yes, pull up your liner and follow the wires to the plugs. I see down under you have an Auzi orange sand wire to cut?! Why is it that? us states in the USA get a grey/black wire that - I can't see it without my glasses?! ;) I'm getting my Bomber checked out from a new dealer who knows motorcycles... and is checking in my break in period and some mods.

I think Stealth should offer extra tires, tube, slime, Mr. Tuffy and other products... as a flat could be a major issue.

I'd also recommend - Thompson 4 inch stems and 1 inch leans bike seat posts for us tall riders over 6'3. Wow, I love my Bomber now, more options and custom fittings, the more sales Stealth will have....

I'd also wish Stealth would offer kick stands, water bottles, and even dirt bike recommended car or truck transportation options. The better total solution and package they can offer or recommend via dealers the better. I have spent lots of time researching this forum and others for the solutions and hiring custom shops to get the work done. I will post the only Infinity Coupe g35 bomber dirt bike ramp in the world shortly.

Lastly, I'd like to see Stealth include a new owners manual. I only discovered the RED regen braking button when I put the brakes under the throttles?! Why would Stealth put the brakes flat or up over the throttles when most mtn bikes and motorcyles have them 45-90 degrees under the throttles?!

I love my new set up as it is familiar and works better. No where have I read in the old and semi deleted online owners manual 2010 that there was a red button for re-gen. I was hoping it was a turbo or ejection seat. ;-( Now I know its A Bomber refueling button plus free braking, I love it - except it dies at 5mph.

Powerfloe, this was the reason why relaced my rear hub motor to a prowheel racing 19x1.4" mini motocross rim. Even with the 24x3 Duro Razorbacks running 30-35PSI with tons of babypower and the thickest Mr Tuffly tire liner I could find, I flated alot before converting to the above setup. As far as tires go, I run either the Bridgstone M403 with 70x100-19 or the Bridgestone M23 2.5x17. The OD is 24.9" and 24.7" respectfully. You can see in the pic of my bike that a 19" motorcycle tires is almost exactly the same size as the stock frot rim and 24x3 Duro Razorback that came with the Bomber. No flats since going to this setup, and the crap I ride, makes Marin County finest trails look like paved dirt singletrack. That really not a good analogy since the single tracks I have been on in the Golden Gate rec area are some of the smoothest dirt I have ever seen. Anyway here is a 2011 owners manual for the Bomber. The only major difference between the 2011 and newer 2012-2013 are the batteries, regen, and CA.

Yeah they looks nice - triple XML-T6's ?

BTW does anyone know anything about Ronnie Renners bomber ?
I was looking at pics the other day and wondered what the black rectangular bits are along the top edge ? Stickers ?
If it was just 1 I'd suspect an aftermarket charge port or something but there's to many and it looks kind of odd. If it's supposed to be cosmetic I can't say it's pleasing, to my eye atleast :?

I've bent the left peddle arm on my stealth fighter. The peddle hits the frame when you try to peddle. What recommendations do you guys suggest? (replace the arm or try to bend it back) Will stealth USA give me instructions
Regarding this? (removing schlumpf button etc) I damaged it today & can't stand it being out of commission . This is
Just my 4th ride
