" HOWEVER, we have a huge surprise coming at Interbike 2013. We will be launching the HPC Revolution. It is a handbuilt all aluminum downhill frame hand welded in the U.S. It will look similar to a Stealth Bomber, but slimmer, faster, more powerful, more agile, and 40 lbs lighter! We will offer both direct drive and also a mid-drive set up with our own made in the USA motor system. It really should be a game changer! i dont know but this is interesting we are having racing competition next year a new sport will rise looool
they also says "Hi-Power Cycles is proud to offer a sneak peak of our flagship HPC REVOLUTION. The Revolution will be the lightest weight, fastest, most powerful, and most nimble purpose built Electric Downhill Bike ever made. It is proudly hand built right here in Los Angeles, CA. The HPC Revolution is sure to shake up the Electric Bike Industry and will make its World Debut in Las Vegas at Interbike, 2013. hardcore downhill with a electric bike is suicide

I like that it is very slim, but the frame design is simple and boring, swingarm is awful
I am excited about the new chemistry Li-NMC, 25% smaller/lighter than LiFepo4 found in Stealth bikes

look like 26" tire looks good to me but yeah about the swingarm and frame design maybe some more racing style will make it more alive and the gear sucks i dont like that on a ebike

Actually it was DLogic (Martin) that told me about that place.

Mafia, now you also know why I went the MC rim route. Solved all of my problems at the expense of weight which is 4-5 pounds more.

i know my friend but i am a little maniac with things like if i change the rear wheel to mc i have to change front too looool and i will give a chance to mtb wheels if this happen again i will go with the mc combo so i know that the stock rim are 24" with 12gauge spoke but what is the length of the spokes ?

Hi all, I'm new to this forum, and this is my first post. Yesterday I ordered a Bomber which will be my first ebike. I'm 60 yrs old, and a life long rider so I don't expect a lot of trouble adapting to electric, but right now I'm an empty slate. With your help I expect a steep learning curve.

I have to admit I've never been a very big proponent of electric bikes, but things change. It's a long story what got me to this point, but lets just say I'm a bike nut and leave it at that for now.

Since I just ordered yesterday, my bike won't be here for a month of so. In the mean time I've been reading as much as possible. I love all the utubes, especially the ones with the guy from Colombia. I ride in the concrete jungle of Dallas dodging wild SUVs, and various assorted meat eating motor tanks.

I'm planning to start voicing my concerns, and asking questions about my new ride soon. Thank you for any help I may receive, and when I can I'll return the same to others.

One of my big concerns about the Bomber deals with the pedal gear box. I both like it, and fear it. It looks very intimidating to repair, and parts are probably impossible to find. I haven't read were many people report having trouble with them though. Do you feel comfortable with your V-Box, and is it easy to use and maintenance?

is easy to use and maintenance you just got to get use to it welcome to the forum hope you enjoy your new bike please post pic of your bike when arrive specially to the swingarm cause i think that have been change about the vboxx is almost maintenance free just some lube and there is some topic about that and you can see in suntour website the instruction ans specs

Thanks guys, it's very reassuring to here that.

And don't worry, I'll be posting a lot of pictures and utubes after my bike gets here. I've had a lot of bikes in my life, and I've never had one that I didn't extensively modify over time.

Don´t worry, the Vboxx is virtually unbreakable. The only weak spot was modified a long time ago. I have both, the old and new version. To satisfy your curiosity, here´s a link to some inside the box info. :)

Those are your videos aren't they? I'm pretty good at taking the transmission apart in my Sprotster and putting it back together, but the V-Box makes my head hurt lol.

Mafia, if you were to go to a 19x1.4 MC rim like the prowheel racing rim, your spokes on the 54xx will need to be cut @127mm for 1x lace pattern like the stock setup. This length is good with spokes from 11g (2.9mm) to 8G (3.6mm) diameter spokes. But yah, a 19x1.4 running any 70/100x19 or 2.75x19 tire is almost identical in size to the stock Bomber wheel tire.

Theodore, welcome to the Forum. You will like your Bomber tons. I had a sporty a while back, it was an XL883 with 1200 jugs on it. Rode it all over Italy. Super E carb, 2-1 supertrapp exhaust, longer duration cams, head work, accell ignition, it was just about dead even as fast as my buddies Ducati 900 Monster. I would pull him in roll-ons but he could launch from dead stop just a little bit harder than I was comfortable with the belt drive. Should have never got rid of it. Just the same, after I got my bomber about 1.5 years ago, I ended up selling all of my dirtbikes because I spent all of my free time on my Bomber. Like I said before, you will really like it. Also. Watch D'logics 3rd video, specifically the second half. It explains about how to adjust the shifter cable lash play. When I followed Dlogic's instructions, it really improved my gear box's shifting after I took some of the play out of the shift cables.

Carefull with that new electric toy tho. It is easy for a newb to accidently hit the trohrottle without thinking that it is an instand ON.
I borrowed my bike to three people and three of them, from standing still and a second later, lying on the ground because of the throttle. The bike is silent when ON so regular person don't think that it will fly away when he twist a little.

Where can I get new cranks for a good price? Those bend instantly when the bike fall, I guess to protect the vBoxx.

Is there any problem with the motor/cables on the stock fighter? Or have i miss read some posts in this thread.

Just an FYI to those interested in MC rims. I had Volt Riders here in the USA build a set of 19x2.15" Warp9 wheels for my Greyborg Ebike build. I chose Shinko 2.75x19" SR244 tires. These came out much wider than I expected but luckily they clear everything on my bike... Barely. Be careful with your wheel and tire combo. I suggest going with what others have proven to work to prevent making a costly mistake.

Just for reference my wheel and tire combo is 25.3" in diameter and 3.3" at the widest part. I have some pictures of them in my build thread if you are curious. They look awesome and my front wheel with tire, tube and dual 180mm discs only weighs 15lbs. Heavier than bicycle parts, but now I have a full susp fat tire bike with over 7" of travel and little worry of getting flats. I use 16 and 17" moped rims and tires on my smaller wheel setups which are mainly street use only.

In my opinion the weight penalty is easily offset by superior tires and performance. I believe a 1.6" rim is probably the widest practical for most setups, but if you want to try a fat tire setup I provided my measurements. I will be building another bike with some 2.5" x 17" shinko SR244 tires on a 1.4" wide moped rim. I can post up their size after they are mounted if anyone want to know. I also have some 16" moped stuff done on my 60mph bike, but I doubt too many stealth owners would want to go to this small of a tire.

I can't wait to ride the new shinko setup. small MC and moped tires work so well on Ebikes and have far superior grip.

Yeah Zombiess I'm running the same 19x1.6 and SR244 tyres on my fighter and it clears the stealth swing arm fairly comfortably. These are a perfect replacement for the stock wheels IMO as they most closely match the standard setup in terms of OD.

And yes the stock wiring setup is fine, the issues I mentioned above we're in my highly customised fighter and the result of pushing more than 3 times the original power into a bigger motor.

Hi Folks,
I have a new black rear 24" bomber rim still in the bubble rap which I paid too much for and it would be nice to get something back for it if someone can use. I have gone to a motorcycle rim as you will note from this forum is recomended to anyone likely to rough offroad their bomber.
If anyone is interested in buying it please let me know. If you are close and postage isn't prohibitive I could throw in the slightly damaged rim (only dented) it was intended to replace.
I am near Sydney.
Thanks,
Clinton
