E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

It is possible to adjust regen level though not exactly straightforward but not that difficult either. It would also zap your warranty. if you're super keen, you'll need a Linux or Windows machine, a programming cable, drivers & software like XPD.

what would be nice is if the regen was progressive

some times its initially too aggressive

it like it to come in much softer and then ramp up the longer you hold it till about where its at now or even a bit more...

thats said on dh trails i hardly use it anyway as its a little too far right and hard to find when you have just gone over a decent drop and the next corner is coming up real fast

WOOHOO, a freight company called today and said my bike will be at DFW air port tomorrow. I ask them if I could go and pick it up myself. Can anyone tell me the approximant dimensions of the shipping crate? Mainly I just need to know how tall it is. I want to load it in my Chevy Express Van. The rear cargo door is about 49" tall.

Allex i have both of those breaks but the hope evo v4 with vented disc is on my bomber the formula R0 suppose to be install late this week on my banshee bike what i can tell you is that the hopetech are very good and they have been perform without even maintenance pretty good but if you buy the hope buy some sintered break pads

Its snowed the first time in Toronto and my stock brakes were crap with a little light snow. Was iffy on using regen with wet ground.

Here's a photo of my ride across a bridge using my new galaxy gear watch camera during the day and night riding on my way back from downtown (30 km). Also I need to get fenders from Quigley in time for spring.

Yes progressive regen is no.1 on my wish list...not much use on trails as you say but it would be great on paved surfaces. I think we'll see it some day soon.

anyone online know if its OK to leave the bomber on charge overnight? ?

Will this balance the cells or is this contraindicated? ?

THX !

Yes it's ok to leave it charging overnight. The balancing phase never takes that long and usually happens only after a fairly deep discharge. While balancing you can hear the charger fan cycling on & off and the voltage readout will drop a bit then continues up in cycles until balanced.

proper159, that bridge looks familiar. Is that the one over Etobicoke Creek connecting to Mississauga? If yes, I used to live in the building at the top of that trail and now am five minutes away from there on the other side of the park.
Theodore, congrats on the new Bomber! You're gonna love it. Please post a close up of your mounted light after you get it finished. I need one as well.......

Yep I basically use it to connect the two Rathburns. I figured it out by looking at google satellite imaging and had a hunch I could connect the end of Rathburn. I did it in the dark about a month ago and it was pitch dark. Before I found the trail I rode into that huge parking area with massive mud puddles.

The bridge at night:

I mounted one to my Fighter not too long ago.

It's still holding well, doesn't move at all, and still allows adjustment when required, so I can recommend this method of mounting. All I did was drill a hole close enough to the edge so I could sandwich the mount in the handle bar mount. Initially I did it too far from the edge and it was scraping the handle bars, but a bit more drilling moved the hole slightly closer to the mount edge to make it work.

And in case your wondering...those other holes were not failed attempts...they were in the mount when I bought it.

Cheers

Dont hope have sintered as standard?

Also It is hard to find information about the real use difference between:
Tech 3 X2
Tech 3 E4
Tech 3 V4

got my rim

now just got to build it up

im thinking about investing in another motor so i can swap the wheels around, street tyres on the stock wheels and trials for the moto x rim.... although i dont ride on the street...

also investigating tubeless, although this may be an issue, there is a setup for wider rims but not the 1.4

cant wait to be able to run 15 psi in the rear though, will be great on the trails i ride

and for those interested its a 19x1.4 36h prowheel

i ordered it online, i dont know from where or how much

but i got the manufacturers part number and googled it, then clicked buy on one of the places that had reasonable postage to AUS

how long are the spokes i need again????????

I ended up going to 8 gauge spokes after smashing the 10 gauge that came with the original setup. 128mm from memory.
The MC rim is the go!

My bike cleared customs the same day it arrived at JFK and was delivered the next day by truck so you may not need to run to DFW.

the thing about hope tech 3 series is the flip flop desing you can't put your rear break on the left hand like motorcycles they are(rear right hand) (front left hand) hope sacrifice the ambidextrous design for some things and no my hope came with standard pads i buy sintered and they are more quiet and last long and about Formula R0 reviews says they are the most powerful breaks ever tested and a lot of people says that the only people that dont like the R0 is for that to much breaking power for the type of ride they do loool but with the bomber i prefer breaking power but i buy the R0 for my banshee normal bike and the decision i made was more for the color loool or maybe changed in the future to my bomber they have ambidextrous design too and i can use them rear left hand i dont want to loose this and get confuse with my bomber break and smash my face loool and they look sick

I think it already cleared customs in L.A.

So I'm thinking the shipping crate isn't more than 40" tall. Does anyone know if that's right?

If I remember correctly the crate is about 78" long by 48" tall by 28" wide. The problem is I am sure about the length and width, but cant remember the height. I remembered the length and width because I had to make sure it would fit through my apartment door which was 34" wide and into my living room for removal and disassembly.

Cheers,

Think I’ll leave it for now until out of warranty then play around with it,

The bike is going back tomorrow to the shop where I got it from, right peddle has come away from crank arm and the threads have stripped inside. The left peddle is really loose as well.

Bike was already completely put together by the shop I got it from. Have looked and googled and one possible explanation being left and right crank arms/peddles being installed wrong. Bike has n’t been dropped and only ridden it three times since new.

The shop where I bought it from the staff were excellent letting me take out there demo for an hour and the bike only took just over 1 month after order placed to arrive.

They are also fitting a switch on handle bars to limit bike to 200watt for on street commuting $20 fitted. So hopefully they can fix issue with peddles and switch at same time.

Have already ebayed & ordered new seat, lights, and reflectors. Put on a bell as well as bike is too quiet and pedestrians on shared footpaths don’t hear you coming.

Looking for fenders, rear rack & kickstand next I just use the bike predominately just for commuting. Need proper fenders that work properly as I wear my work clothes to work on the bike.

If anyone has suggestions or good experience with fenders, rear rack & kickstand please let me know thanks.

if using 10-8G spokes, you should be looking at about 127mm long. This will bring the tip of your spoke right up to the top of the spoke nipple in the rim and shouldn't require much griniding. I based this on my initial 19" prowheel rim laced up to my hub. I had the spoke cutter cut 133mm spokes and ended with exactly 5mm sticking up past the nipple in the rim. Had to cut them down with a dremmel. Pain in the ass, but at least I didn't have to waste the spokes unlike if they were too short. Are you lacing the rim yourself or having a local shop do it?

Well as long as it's not more than 48" I think it will scrape in the back door of my van. Trust me, after waiting all this time, I'll get it in there one way or the other lol.

Maybe they changed crate sizes in the last year but mine was definately less than 48" tall. It'll fit!

Thanks, I was guessing from the pictures it's only about 40".

Watch your back, My crate was stamped with "100Kg" Sticker so it is heavy. You can always bring your screwdriver with you and only load the bike to the van.

Mafia, I think Formula brakes can flip upside down if you need to move the levers to another side, right?
With Hopes, instead of flipping the levers you need to flip the hydraulic hoses, and then do a re bleed, righ?
