Back when I was a kid I fell in love with the simplicity and looks of old midget race cars.
I wanted one for years as the ancient ones were often old inline 4 cylinder (even motorcycle V-Twin) , leaf sprung , and a dirt simple hand brake cables.
They got fancier , like this one, but could be home-made>>>

And then lo-and-behold I spot this E-Wolf electric !!
I love the classic looks, but do ya think it will ever sell low enough for a normal human to ever get one :shock: ?

The only way (IMHO) that anything like this will experience any serious success is through kit form. The DOT has so many hoops for car manufacturers to jump through I can't imagine anyone being able to start a successful company these days.

Tesla seems poised to survive, but they filled an ignored niche, and they are well-aware that their next model must arrive soon and sell well. It is a 4-seat E-car with a much lower price than the roadster.

Its my understanding that concerning car kits, the Cobra is by far the most successful with several companies making them. The Austin-Healy and Porsche Spyder also do well. Laws vary by state, but I imagine a street-legal electric 3-wheeler kit would be fairly easy to develop and sell just about anywhere as it passes through many common loop-holes. I wish these guys luck!..

You hit the nail on the head! But maybe it won't even work in kit form.

I'd drive the Audi #5 to work. :mrgreen: These are exactly what I have been thinking about lately. A little open e-roadster. Also I wonder how much a legends body would be. I see those at our local dirt track with motorcycle engines=way cool. Not sure if they are 1/2 scale or what? Just checked it out 5/8 scale. A body is only 294 dollars=not bad.

Stretch it.
Gut the pedals, wheels, steering.
Cut body in half at the door area (cockpit)
Make door panel to fill gap with a fabric/leather snap on door(s).
Mount body on e-go-kart chassis .... you'll fit, unless your really BIG.
{PS ... that is the coolest Messerschmitt trike! 8) }

OOps I looked at the legends cars again. 294 dollars is for half a car :oops: More like 600 dollars for a "whole" body minus fenders and hood too.. :oops: They show a roadster body which is what I would want but it's not avail. yet :cry:

Need a three wheeler.... easier to make legal

and with pedals ... no registration.
