Ebike conversion 600$ budget

Here are some parts if you still have not built the bike yet. Close to budget. Not the best, but they will do.

These are as close to $600 as I could get. The bike has very noisy brakes. I own the same one as an ebike. The derailer is crap, but for $13 you can buy a Shimano tourney. The crankset is plastic, I replaced it for $34. And the brakes I replaced with SRAM Avid BB5 calipers, they are dead silent, but cost $74. There is some good parts and how to make them better. Good luck.

I know nothing about this bike. Lead Acid will be dead in a year or two.

Nope. I have heard whispers of it, but I do not know what it is. I just started building electric bikes last year, so I have limited knowledege on the subject.

Ronnie,

Some 15 - 18 years ago there were few if any companies making compete e-bikes I-Zip/E-Zip was one of the few , I can not even remember any others from that long ago.
So they had a head start in the E-Bike Business , They did develop a good dealer network around 9-10 or so years ago, but were on the expensive side and bike shops
really did not warm up to E-Bike's back in those days. Back then most every battery was Lead Acid, and was 24 volts. Or even 12 Volts in the case of ZAP bolt on motors.

But now their products are just mediocre , and for the Price of one there are better options available. Like Sonders, and the Ikea E-Bike, Etc.

They did make good little scooters at good prices , I had one of the early ones from 14 years ago that had a controller with no soft start, you pushed the thumb throttle and if you were not standing on it , it took off without you.
It was allot of fun, I rode it everwhere in the mountains, on the flat, etc. It would climb up most any grade of incline, Perhaps a few people got hurt so within no time they went to a twist throttle system and it was Wimpy, Just junk compared to the early one that had immediate massive torque , and was only 500 watts ,
It would take you up any hill, there was no hill I could not go up, and it did 15 + Mph on flat ground. The one draw back , they always had 12 inch wheels through out the entire line up for the many years they made them so they were a little twitchy compared to 16 inch wheel
scooters. I got my start with electric drives with scooters, Hence the E.S. Name ScooterMan .
