Electric Bicycle VS Electric Motorcycle?

Ya, you most definitely want a good (preferably adjustable) damped suspension for continuous speeds of more than about 30 mph on all but the very smoothest roads or tracks.

How do the bikes compare? Do you still ride Big Blue mostly? I hacked Red up thinking I could use the parts better after the rear shock frame bracket failed. I stole the 24 fet controller off of the race bike to put on Blue and at a 70A current limit I get controller that barely gets warm even if I get stuck behind traffic going up a hill like today. Plus I have to keep Blue operational at all times until I get make another bike capable of passengers. The tiny racer is waiting for extension before I put a controller back on.

All have the identical 12kg hubmotor.
Blue isn't bad on smaller typical bumps as long as I put some weight on the pedals. For a pothole you better get that butt off the seat before hitting it or things get fun. Red just made roads easier on your butt, but on washboard type bumpy roads the wheel left the road too much. Tiny Racer, is like a clown bike with me on it, but even with that bottom of the line suspension it stays smooth and keeps the tire planted. I guess the BB being on the swingarm helps that. Red had some brake dive that took a little getting used to, but nothing like Tiny Racer's brake dive using the same fork as Red. You have to consciously push your weight back by straightening your arms in preparation of the dive.

Tiny Racer would probably make a great electric moto for kids, though they'd probably need a much lighter hub motor, so the unsprung weight didn't toss them around. I don't really feel the heavy hubbies except when the wrong bump and wrong body position hammer than hubbie on blue directly up my spine.

If it wouldn't cause projectile vomiting, I'd post a picture of me in shorts and flops sitting on Tiny Racer to show just how silly small this bike is for me. It works unbelievably well even with fat me on it....just lean over the bars when hitting the throttle and back when braking.
