When are the trials guys going to learn to put a small hubby in the front wheel too? In that kind of riding there's no doubt that 2wd can be a benefit, and electric is the only way to accomplish truly useful 2wd with little added weight.

Dougie Lampkin utilized a front hub motor for his wheelie distance challange on the la mans race course by using the front wheel rotational movement to help balance the bike over the long distance wheelie attempt..

Chain drive rear, geared freewheeling hub on front and a throttle on each handlebar side for independent control. This would also make for great mx racing... Push into corners with rear motor and pull out with front motor. nice!

I'll be launching my first 2wd next weed, just finishing up the wiring and battery mount, something I've wanted to try for years now. I'm not sure about the need for separate throttles, though I can kinda see the need when the front wheel goes airborne, but that should properly be handled by software. 2wd has been the holy grail of ICE moto manufacturers but it's so easy with electric. In my case, solely for street riding, I just want the extra traction, and the extra power afforded by double the cooling. I'm starting with 7kw up front and 17kw rear as the power allocation, and see how it goes.

i do think there is not even comparation EM and GASgas or yamaha ....
they really develop and use the best and EM still uses 3rd party Chinese stuff.. like the golden motor.. please...

let me tell you if you ride a trials bike with no weight you cant do most of the stuff, you always need weight , stability rigidy , special in trials forget about launching like a rocket from a rock to another rock with 30 kgs , you will miss all the stability in such a bike,..tires, rims , suspensions, chains, frame ...

gasgas uses a petrol bike with torrot electronics crammed in, not exactly revolutionary imo.. and Yamaha is a huge company with massive R&D budget but their etrial is not yet available on market.. some 2019 electric motion models have a new motor, controller, etc.. and Electric Motion Epure prototype is said to have the power equivalent of a 300cc 2stroke according to test riders, and has a patented "electro magnetic controlled clutch" ..
(so where are the gasgas patents

Didn't but it suggests that it will bounce you out of the bike pretty easy, its a crooked design for a trials bike..

Can you pls elaborate what gives you such an impression, especially if you have not seen or ridden the bike?

I have seen it.
frame is not what years and years of trial bike riders and engineers developed, ie: distance from rear wheel to the frame is nothing , looks stupid as most of Kuberg bad design bikes
Also wheels... whats that? teenager bike for adults , but why the big frame distance to the ground than? out of gravity there no? 14 inch rear wheel and 20 inch wheel front ??

I would love to understand the specifics of trials bike frame geometry and how it differs from mx bike geometry. Same goes for suspension. what are common measurements and weights of trials forks? How are they setup regarding compression and rebound dampening compared to an MX bike? There are maybe 2 trials bikes in my town and one is a display at a museum. I can get close to it with a tape measure but that's about it?

Are there any good Youtube channels or websites with basic overviews of trials bikes?
