has anyone come across this EMC 1kW, fold up (?) electric dirt bike ?
Selling for $3k on Ebay with lipo battery and a " dual core" motor ??

Certainly a Chinese lash up, and i am guessing a "pit bike" size unit with 12/13" wheels .

Looks like a Currie motor. Bet it's got nice torque with such a small wheel. But loud like a Currie. That won't matter in the pits.

I would expect you put a full size 200 pound man on it, and ride up steep trails, and it will get the motor nice and hot. A 90 pound kid will love it I'm sure.

About a year ago, it came up for discussion, mostly positive. Big block type motor.

I thought the battery was in the leather bag. Looking at it again, it may be on the upper portion on the main tube, which makes it smaller.

"Intelligent dual core motor" :?:

Looks a lot like a Sachs Madass. Kinda cool. Why did they have to make it foldable though :)

Ideal for pit bike type uses. Folding could be perfect for taking on an aircraft, the plane parking can be a long way from the coffee shop or car parking.

Or for an RVer, Use it to run to the store for beer and bread. Folding could be tossed into a trunk, hatchback, or carry in the boat on the trip to the lake. And of course, perfect for the pits of a racetrack.

Just don't think it will rock to ride up steep mine roads with a big man on it.

Site says a brushed motor making any controller/battery upgrades moot. I thought they were brushless.

I doubt they're brushed. You can order many variations including with pedals, and a hubmotor.

Saw many variations of that bike mostly in street version. With currie style brushed motor and with Direct drive.
The direct drive version can be ordered in 48v and 72v. Top speed was limited to 45km/h. I talked to them about possible modifications and since they where the manufacturer it was possible. I did not follow through with them but can consider it in the future. One thing that I was not comfortable with is that it was pretty small compared to my ebikes.
Here are some pictures.

So is the motor that is off to the side brushed or brushless? I can't imagine it being brushed, but maybe. I wonder if you could add the GNG motor if not?

I'm 85% sure it is a GNG big block. I remember LFP saying he saw this ohso common motor on many of the ohso common China cargo trikes that used an inefficient differential transmission powered via big block. :)

That would be much better than a currie then. I just glanced, and assumed it was a currie copy.

Hi guys,

Im living in Sweden and got interested in this e-bike some while ago. Now i have placed an order after much trouble with my car. Since it will be a shorter more direct commute on bicycle routes i will not loose more than a couple of minutes by going by e-bike than by car. Lacking troubles as asholes trashing the car, meter maids giving me fines etc. Anyhow, thats my alibi.

I wonder if anyone heard more of this bike? I placed an order on the 25kn/h verson, (in Sweden we have 25/electric bike that can ride on biketrails and 45km/h that has to go on regular roads only.)

The motor is rated 1500 w and it is the same motor in both models. Can anyone guide me how to de-restrict the 25km/h model to full effect? Im mostly going to commute during night and lonely trails. Since im working as a bouncer with the appropriate 230 pounds behind my words im interested in ways to get as much torque but also more top speed.

David
