G'Day, I contacted EV assemble for a quote on a 72V 10Ah battery and the price is really good. US$496 cheaper than I can get the same battery for here in Aus.

Has anyone had dealings with EV Assemble in particular buying batteries? the cheapness means nothing if their batts are crap or poorly constructed.

thanks in advance,
Gow.

Right so nobody has bought batteries from EV assemble.... then i won't either.

I bought the full package from evassemble (controller, motor, battery, throttle). Like others, I received a battery with bigger dimensions than I was promised (20mm extra height) but unlike others that didn't cause me too much bother. They seem good at customising batteries; in my case, using a capacity-based bms rather than a bleeder. Build quality was mostly ok - what I can see of it. Everything is hidden away inside shrink wrap and a semi-rigid pack. However, the anderson connectors they had included wouldn't initially connect. The metal connectors weren't clicked into place so I took the housings off. To my alarm, I then recognised that there were at least some second hand parts used. The wire was positively ancient and there was no way that the anderson connectors were only two weeks old. While that does make you wonder about the rest of the pack, especially the unseen parts, the battery has thus far performed well. Headways have plenty of C for my needs and it was an inexpensive pack.

Other considerations:
- time quoted for delivery was two weeks but it was nearly six before the package arrived;
- motor (bafang jewel) performs within expected parameters but is plagued by a stripping sound, so I'm guessing that either the large gear has a problem or the clutch assembly. I asked twice by email for advice about this but received no reply. I won't even bother bringing up a warranty repair with them
- otherwise, though, they communicate well - I was especially thankful for "Michael's" willingness to discuss complementarity of different kit options via skype

I just got my 72V 20Ah pack from evassemble. They are cheap but I am not happy at all with their service. It took almost 3 months to get my pack and there was excuse after excuse on why it was delayed. The think that really pissed me off is that my BMS is limited to 50A discharge which isnt gonna be a whole lotta good with a Lyen 24fet controller! I guess I am part to blame for that but as I am totally new to LiFePo4 I thought the BMS was only for monitoring and charging. You would think a company that does this for a living would ask a question or two. Especially when the order is going half way around the world. If I had to do it all again I would probably go elsewhere for my pack.
