I just deleted that....

Cammy-CC , if you want to post on this forum, that's ok, but no copy/paste advertising, talk to us, give us information like what cells you are using and how they are assembled, answer questions about packs you have sold to members in the past, that i can accept..

Ypedal : Moderator.

Ypedal; I totally agree with you that cammy_cc's post was done in the wrong place, but you should have just moved it to the appropriate forum instead instead of deleting it, no? I am mostly saying this since I wanted to add a link to this thread to help people know what this vendor is probably up to... or give cammy_cc a chance to explain themselves.

It's a tough call, but if cammy is serious enough about his or her product a bit of participation would be a good show of credibility, if Ping can do it, so can others..

I pm'ed ping for his opinion on these packs, aparently there are ALOT of these 18650 cells floating around in china for real cheap, they are a few years old, production run for a big name company that was refused because they failed QC... rest assured they don't throw them out.

The spot welds on these cells is very sketchy and canot provide amps required for ebikes..

if cammy can confirm otherwise, lets hear it !

I feel fortunate that QFFX refunded my money. I now realize the ebay feedback system needs to be taken with a large grain of salt.

Another one: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/plxzh6666
This individual goes by seller id: plxzh6666
A brief perusal of the listings reveals; Same funky (0) low-rated bidders running up the prices. Similar sellers history showing lots of cheap consumer trinkets to establish credibility. Typical LiFEPO4 boilerplate advertising in broken english.
Here is the contact email: yangjihong08@hotmail.com if you have any questions about his/her services.
'21st Century Fashion Store' is the ad header for some of the listings, but not all of them (8 battery kits total).
Yikes. It's a Pandora's Box out there.

I have an electric rider phoenix w/4825 controller
I currently run 10AH SLA's.
All-Battery tried to get me a nimh pack working, but after 1 month, and 2 bad batteries, I got a refund.

In desperation I just bought a battery from cammy and I don't know what to do.
Should I 'take one for the team' and report on what I end up with?
Or scream to ebay - paypal to cancel?

I ultimately paid with visa, in case of anything.

Here is the battery I bought.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between the old ping battery cells and the new cells are?
Is it a fact that cammy has disqualified (factory seconds) batteries?

@VT: I'd get out. Chargeback or whatever. I'd rather fight with PP than get sCammy'd.

Well at least you bought the big size. Actually we have no Idea how the battery from cammycc itself is. I'm dying of curiosity whether it is a prismatic cell pack or a hundreds of little welded round cells pack. In the past, one of the other duct tape batteries had decent cells but the tabs weren't soldered solid like on Li Pings batteries. So a few of em had broken tab problems, but once fixed they were still ok, or at least the owners haven't posted about it. A few of those packs changed hands to pepole who had the skills to reconfigure and re bms and such.

I wouldn't want anybody to take it on the chin for the sphere but we all would like to have one of her batteries and customer service tested. We sure know the score on Jimmy and East now! If nothing else, unreliable to ship. One thing though, if you do accept delivery on this battery and it runs your bike ok, that will be something to know. I don't think any of the duct tape batteries are really up to the demands of a Phoenix sise motor untill you get to 30 or 40 ah. If you don't have cutouts on hills and start ups and your pack stays balanced it means the cells are pretty good and the bms is not undersize for your bike. I don't know how to calculate the c rate for a battery on a given bike, but you will need to stay around 1c for the 1c test results to mean anything. Till we find out better the hard way, I will continue to advise not using duct tape batteries above 1 to 1.5 c. I'd love to see cell test results for 2 or 3 c so we'd know what it costs to do what folks are doing anyway.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Im going to go ahead and go thru with the order. ALL-BAttery owes me a favor ( or 2), and they are 10 minutes from my work, so
I will take your last reply to him, and see if he can test the battery for the edge cases you outlined, and identify the cells as well.

Also I have the less powerful Roadrunner motor with optional 4825 controller, not the phoenix, so this should better my chances of success.

I hope to have good news soon.

yuanhao_2008899 is the newest "ping battery" ebay vendor in town. Except, this time, the seller is claiming it's "100% official".

Someone here was quoting the old Firesign Theatre group here recently. I think the relevant portion of that collected wisdom in when Nick Danger (Third Eye) asked: "What kind of fool do you take me for?"

And Rocky Roccoco (I think) replied: FIRST CLASS!!!

I think I'll stick to my Bosch Litheon "fat packs" , with all blessings, good wishes and hopes for the best for whomever wishes to stick their neck (and their cash) out to buy from the Ping wannabees.

That is, I'll stick to my "fat packs" as soon as I devise a satisfactory method for mounting and pulling amps from them! It's a work in progress.........
