I am building am electric scooter with 16" wheels, and need it to go 25-30mph. I only need around 500w at this speed, but I can't seem to find a high enough RPM hub motor since I am using such small wheels.

The Q100 hub motor is the perfect size (or even the q80), but they are too slow at 328rpm max. Could I rewire them to achieve higher RPM/V?

Otherwise I'm left with an RC motor, but then need a gearbox since those spin at too high of an RPM lol.

You may only need 500 Watts, but you will need 66 Volts to get to 27 mph.

The problem is, will a q100 take 66v? What about 72v for 30mph? :D

Yes. But not for long.
