I think I just inadvertently committed to myself to getting a few of these packs when I bought a 100pc security bit set. :?

Oh well. :D

Got any defective packs for me Doc? 8)

Doc, anyone,

How do these Makita packs compare with the DeWalt packs?

What type of cells are inside; how easy are they to get hold of, etc?
Sorry if this has been covered before. There's a sticky about the DeWalt method of getting a123 cells, but I didn't see the equivalent for Makita.

Thanks,

Nick

Thanks Link,

I think I'm following you round on this subject. I was bidding on a Ping pack- not the same one as you - and then decided that was not the way to go until he's doing direct sales again.

I want a 40 A peak discharge though, so it would have to be a big Ping pack. I'm tempted to build a low capacity pack out of Hi C Li cells to start with, on the grounds that I can add capacity later. But I've also been tempted by some 10 Ah NiMH cells from Newtec in Germany - shipping is of course easier for me on that.
