More info than I'll probably ever need on watts/mile, watts used, amp hours used. Found out I used 302 watts on today's ride, of 12 miles, an average of about 25 watts/mile. All to haul home an 80# bag of Sacrete, four 10# tubs of hydraulic cement and a 10 foot length of 4" perforated drain tile and a connector hub, which were of negligable weight. Trailer wasn't happy with the load, but no tires popped. Found out that it couldn't calculate regen capacity of my solar panels because the solar recharge did not go through the external shunt, instead the MPPT controller feeds into the same leads that the battery charger uses. At least, that's what I figured, so hopefully, someone with more experience than I will tell me that I just didn't set up the CA correctly. Thanks to Zev and Justin in Vancouver for a great product! And for their prompt service!

Great mileage with a trailer both ways and a significant load. Time to bite the bullet and get mine connected. With the new manual now out I expect it to be fairly straight forward.

Sorry, meant to say wh used and wh/mile used. New fangled terms, old brain kinda thing. Gotta get a better trailer, been looking at Cabela's game trailer, rated at 550# capacity with foam filled tires, the Nashbar trailer wasn't meant for such loads, having a rated capacity of 25#. Oh, and the average temperature of the ride yesterday morning was 27 deg. F. Surprised the sla batteries lasted for the ride, given the temp, but I guess given that they are in a battery bag and enclosed in a Rubbermaid and fresh off the charger, they stayed warm enough. Now, all I gotta do is wait for the shock given to my credit card from purchasing the CA and X5 wears off and I can buy a batt from Mr. Ping.
