im pretty sure you were practicing catch and release, who knows, waters chlorinated and really what are the odds. I always feel stronger in colder climates. youre out and exercising getting fresh air. I really believe the death rate is way off. I was looking at Germanys stats compared the USA about the same amount of cases. Germany is obese like the USA but has only a quarter? of the deaths of the usa. so being old or fat doesn't seem to matter as much as wether your healthy or not healthy.

STATUS

I have been working from home but spending quite a bit of time out in the sun exercising.

Today we emptied the garage, organized, and put everything back in.
After that we vacuumed the fish pond and cleared out all the algae.

Exercise is the most valuable thing you can do for your health. It will make you hungry for good food and purge the toxins out of your body. You will know you are doing it right when you get your first heavy sweat and you can SMELL IT coming out of your pores. Exactly what IT is. . . nobody wants to know. . . but it definitely smells like the back ally between a bad restaurant and a plastic factory.

That said, once I actually get sick, I have found that it takes me twice as long to recover if I don't just lay down and accept it. I usually try to fight thru it (because it always happens 7 days into a new job - go figure)... but that just makes it take 3 weeks instead of a week and a half to not feel like death.

We are obeying the Governor for now (for the most part), but I can see the local small businesses gasping their last breath. I am of the opinion that this opportunity will be used to correct the economy. That is the way powerful rich people do it.

While we run in circles panicking, they pull the levers in such a way that the money pours into their accounts again. . . and the debts and responsibility fall on the middle class.



If anyone tells you not to speak of the political and financial impacts of this "situation", tell them to stand down. Emergencies come in bunches and most humans have enough mental bandwidth to process more than one thing at a time.

It is a perfect time to walk in the woods, stroll a deserted beach, go out on a Kayak, etc. What your government wants you to do is be aware of the risk and avoid close interaction. That does not mean you have to hide in the house (unless you want to).

If a cop wants to give me a ticket for talking a walk - bring it. I am securing my supply lines, checking my traps, collecting food, patrolling my neighborhood, etc. Nobody can order you indoors indefinitely, unless they want to bring the army out, and even then, you will have to put me in a cage again.

Be self reliant.
Try not to spread panic or virus.

The streets are full of happy, healthy people riding bikes and walking in the warm afternoon sun. About half of them are commercial ebikes, the other half are the die-hard pedal bunch.

Of note, there was a man losing his mind across the water. Screaming about cell phones and this and that. Quite disturbed he was. . . I am pretty sure it was the same guy I saw last night riding around with no light. He yelled at me to go copulate with myself.

In Santa Cruz the businesses are suffering but it is unusually crowded on the walking trails and roads. Folks are taking this for a vacation, and they should. There is no risk in taking a walk - so long as you don't go pawing things and trying to catch a sneeze in your mouth.

I noticed the last few days there are tons and tons of people on the pathways around the river system. Its like its a long weekend or something. Common to see 3-4 people wide blocking the entire width of the pathway, got people with dogs on leashes 20' oblivious to bicyclists.

I noticed all my fishing spots were taken by people fishing. I believe they were fly fishing but I dont pay attention. I found one spot thats not known for catching but it has a log near the shore to sit on, but its close to the pathway but havent had any talkers walk up yet.
