found new cheap site for BMS, LiFePO4 & charger up to 18000W

I bought a BMS and charger from Jack. The BMS is this one:
AE-LMD17-16Z.jpg

There are 13 wires for the harness; I need to wire up a 36v battery, and have a very big supply of cells. Anyone know how to wire it up?

I received a 16S, 45A BMS from eCity. Shipping took a little longer than I expected and they forgot to get a tracking number. However, the BMS was packaged well and looks fine. Jack and Mandy were responsive to my questions - including one for a connection diagram. I've included their response below. It may be helpful for your 36V pack as well.

Still, 13 connections (in addition to B-, I assume) for a 12 cell pack? You may want to email them for an explanation.

The attachment is the connection diagram.

Please keep the order below to install(It is very important to install in sequence!).

1. B- to battery pack- with a big copper wire.
2. C- to charger- with a big copper wire.
3. Cell1 negative have connected to B- by step1.
4. #1 to cell2 negative(same position cell1 positive)
5. #2 to cell3 negative.
6. ...
7. #15 to cell16 negative.
8. #16 to cell16 positive.
9. Battery pack+ is output of whole battery pack and charger positive. Charger negative is C- on BMS board.
10. The whole battery pack negative output is P- on BMS board.

Note: The output is battery pack positive(on battery cells) and P-(on BMS Board).
The input(charging) is battery positive(on battery cells) and C-(on BMS Board)
#1-#15 should be wired to cells #2(negative) to cells #16(negative).
#16 should be wired to cell #16 positive.

Got my battery today. 20 days to ship china to canada. When i put my test meter on it it said 27 volts. Seemed awfully low... The I putit on charger for 20 mins (56 volts read with charger connected). Disconnected and read 14 volts on battery.

I am confused. Is there a reason for that?

I charged for another while and get 12-14 volts, will update after a night of charging

I am considering tearing it apart for you guys that wanted to know what was in there but it is packed so nicely! And if I tear it down to measure each cell it'll end up duct taped.....

is this a 48V battery? does it have a label on it? if it reads only 27V, then you have some serious problems. how much current does the battery take when you are charging? is it a 5A charger and can you measure the 5A?

can you put your meter inline so you can measure the current while it is charging? do you know if you are using the right polarity while charging? it does not make sense that the battery voltage is going down if you are charging it unless you have reversed the poles. 27V is a dead battery if that is what it really measures.

I emailed Jack and he phoned me in 5 mins as I crawled into bed. Quick little dude. So I spent some time on MSN with him (webcam) and tested some things.
Guess what...he thinks it is broken. He says he will send new one express and will pay to have this shipped back.
Anyways I got to take it apart after all!
Here are some pics!
If you want something else tested pictured probed speak now as battery will be gone fast!

Look what i found:

Is this a LiFePO4 as I had ordered?

The cells are very low!..

I think it might come from the BMS that could have a problem.. I see it is a capacitor charge balancing device.. and these type off BMS are known to have some problem that make it to draw current anytime on the cellsl and if you dont keep them cahrged very soon.. the BMS drain the cell.. I might be wrong but that appear to be the most plausible explaination.

i agree with doc. i can see the balancing caps too, surprising that allen did not make that more informative type of comment if he is such an experienced agent.

it is dead. no saving it.

I think it's worth noting that due to an inventory issue the 200W chargers I was supposed to receive from Jack are actually the 400W chargers and he didn't charge me anything extra. My point being that while he may be struggling a bit with quality control right now his customer service is top notch and he's not afraid to meet a problem head on and fix it. That goes a long way in my book and I have no doubt I'll be ordering more stuff from him in the future.

He did respond super fast and spent an hour or so with me on MSN to see if it could be resolved and then offered me a new battery shipped express and to pay return shipping for this one. If he holds true I will be very impressed and will back him. The only thing that concerns me is that I ordered LiFePO4 and I am not sure what this is.......

Thanks for the PDF. It also says to charge them to 4.2 volts (??) That's 67 volts for a 48 volt pack.

I am very confused by the cells in that pack
Seems odd....

I ordered a 36v/15ah pack from Jack 17days ago, shipping promised in 18 days. Below is the quote I got from him for the 12 cell 15ah lifepo4 pack that definitely sepcifies a different kind of battery than the one you received. It also specifies a 3c discharge rating. The 1181245 cells can be found on the website, and match the dimensions of the pack he described and that I eventually paid for (sorry, the column formatting is off). I'm starting to worry about what I'll get in the mail.

Hi Smith,
Thanks for your coming letter. Please note the quotation below.

I don't know how these companies expect to sell anything without having specs on their website. For example, all that is listed for this $514 item is
48V/20Ah LiFePO4 Battery Pack with BMS,Charger and Heat Shrink Tube Package.

I tend to immediately shy away from any website that has so little infomation about products. They need to list dimensions, weight, battery specs like charge and discharge rates, charger amps, charge time, etc, and they should have photos of each product. As a consumer, there is nothing more annoying than having to ask really basic questions about products and wait for a response. A simple change to their website would guarantee more sales. It makes no sense to have a one liner product description when the buyers are spending $500 on something.

i really wold like to know why that battery was dead. it appeared to me that the package had been opened in transit. i wonder if it was damaged so bad in shipping that it killed it.
