Front light that makes cars wait for you

actually, I can't decide what direction to go; use the main bike battery or self powered? By local, or from Justin at ebikes.ca or ebay? Too many choices!

Thanks,

I recommend the cree magic shine light, you can get it from deal extreme and other places. It takes these small batteries, and you can carry a spare batery in your pocket, great little light, very bright. My sister has one working for over year.

I use home made Hallogen, 50 watt, but I use a separate 12 volt battery to power them , no dc dc . The hallogens pull 50 watts or 3.5 amps on a 12 volt battery. So I bring a 5 amp hour size battery for my 1 hour R/T Commute. I used to use RC NIMH batteries but now I use LIPO 3Series or 4series.

Just be aware these Ebay Lights that run strait off pack voltage, get a warranty, otherwise they may have no reverse polity protection, may not be wired properly,
as Amberwolf states, and blow on first use. For me that was 30$ down the drain.

That's a huge emitter. I love it!

It is a beauty. You can get 100w 30-34v ones for £7 with 35mil chips. These seem to be harder to overheat. You can buy 45mil chip versions but they are easier to overdrive/overheat with basic pwm circuits and no ampage monitoring. But wow do the 45mil chip ones kick out some sun

Those are excellent prices from what I've experienced. Thanks for the link. ( I wonder if they have US ebay listings... going to check it out)

Found a similar US link, but they don't list size options, just power output and color :

eBay SMD LED chips

They post to "worldwide" it says so should be ok. I just used ebay.co.uk to search once I pressed the global option.

I dont think half of them know what 45mil etc means or they are withholding it in the hope you think they are. You can kind of get an eye for it though if they have actually used an image of the product you will get. Also look for 100w collimators if you need them.
