just wondering what the effective top tube length on this bike is...

i'm 5'11" btw. i ride a LARGE mongoose salvo comp. fits very well but i'm converting it to electric so i'll be needing another f/s bike

you think the V2100 would be too small for me?

In a general way, the MTB's sold at walmart such as a genesis, mongoose, etc tend to be small frames. Ridden mostly by young teens, till they get a car. I always have to stack two seatposts on them, and put BMX bars on them to get them even close to comfortable for me to ride them upright. If I raise the seat and keep the flat bars, it will kill my wrists to ride it far.

I'm 5'11" But long in the leg. I haven't thrown a leg over the genesis though, so I'm not sure about its frame size.

that wal-goose in the picture above has a 23" effective top tube length. not the best fit but it's just barely tolerable...

the large Salvo is 24.5". a lot more comfortable

so stole a pic off the web i fired up coreldraw. dimension tool. calibrated it against a known size which is the 26" wheel

well i'll be damned, 23.5". that's actually good enough for me

Just eyeballing em, It did look to me like the geneses, or similar frame mongoose was a tad bigger than the really cheap mtb's at walmart. Stuff like a pacific, or roadmaster. The ones closer to $100 bucks. Beach cruisers etc are more normal size for adults.
