Not a high use ebike I bought 3 years ago. Charged last week and no lights no nothing. Pulled battery and seems im getting 36v and 40v readings when measured in front of BMS but very low readings post BMS. The post BMS readings actually start like 7V or something and start dropping lower as I watch my voltmeter.

I just started reading about batteries and BMS so I dont know a lot about them. It seems like Genze uses a proprietary BMS. It also looks like its a very low amp rating for a 36v battery. 8A?

Can this be repaired? I looked at Aliexpress and I could not find anything showing 10S and 8Amps. I read another post on here that said it might be a fuse on the circuit board? Can I just bypass the Bms all together?

One thing too- 10S are the cells? My board says 10s but only 9 wires.

See pics.

Thanks so much everyone. Im going to run some thick gauge wires pre bms from the battery to the bike just to check that the battery is good. Will this hurt anything?

Genze won't send me a bms. They want to sell me a whole new battery. It would KILL me to have to bring this thing to the reclamation center with 30 good recharchable batteries in it.

Pic. These from above post.

Usually the BMS turns off it's output (and/or input) to protect the cells from overdischarge (or overcharge).

What are the actual cell voltages, when measuring across each pair of wires that go to the cells? Sometimes you have to start with the meter's black lead on the main big battery negative that goes to the cells, and the first red lead measurment on the first cell wire, to read all ten cells.

Each measured 4.0 to 4.1

So do I ride the bike to discharge the batteries a bit and then rewire the BMS back and see if it charges up/is back to normal?

Would you be able to show exactly how you bypassed the Bms? I have this same exact problem, and the batteries measured 4v each like yours did, but not able to charge.

Also, any update on your situation? Hope it all went well!

I know it's been awhile. Did you ever get this resolved?
