45mph with 1440W input? It appears the aerodynamics of your bike fall somewhere between a triathlon bike and superman position.

You're happy at 45mph and that's great for you, no need to hate on faster bikes.
No need to hate efficient motors. :) Lets see some torque at 12 mph

Enough torque to smoke the rear tire (which is on video) and lift the front wheel at low speeds (also on video). Perhaps you missed the video where I do 0-75km/h going uphill from a dead stop.

Cool.

Please post the location so we can see the slope on google pedometer?

:D

I would like to see the location as well. In another thread I posted topographical survey data of the hills I test on, and have let locals test ride my bike. If I claim a top speed, it's with details, such as one or two way average. A 10mph tailwind will add nearly 10mph to the top speed.

Knoxie's video shot on the 400m running track is a great way to 'level' the playing field.

Yes, someone needs to tune into the 'Ebike Photos & Video' channel. No need to whore videos out all over the forum. If people want to watch them, they're easy to find in the appropriate section.

I just watched one of your videos maui, actually 2, nice bike, long range quick too...good job!! I loved it when you passed all that traffic, and that road bike.

there should be a rule against unnecessarily "bumping" threads.

There should be a flag when a moderator edits a member's post...

Most definitely, along with ID an explanation as to why. Like:

-----serious verbal threats toward another member edited by Lowell------

Should questions arise as to justification, and to keep a history should out-right banning later be considered necessary, the edited text should be dated and kept in an offline file.

We could have a gulag, that does not appear on the index page.

Offensive posts could be moved there and only accessed from the original location, or by bookmark. Arguments could continue there, out of public view.

If a member appeals for reinstatement of post, other members could review and vote.

If a member publicly re-posts same or similar banished info, they could then be banned.

:?:

This thread certainly got trashed, didn't it.

On the one hand, it would be nice for future viewers to not have to wade through mounds of crap to get to the actual useful information, on the other hand, moderators should not appear to be arbitrarily deleting posts.

The forum software does not make it easy to move individual posts, you can only copy and paste them. Editing and deleting are easier.

I'm inclined to simply delete posts that are inflammatory and don't contain any useful information in order to clean up a thread.

It would be better if things didn't need cleaning up in the first place, but boys will be boys.

This forum is for the exchange of information, not the exchange of insults or personal attacks.

If I can figure out an easy way to deal with out-of-line posts without permanently deleting them, I might consider moving them to a sandbox somewhere. Meanwhile, don't be offended if one of your posts gets deleted in the interest of cleaning up a thread.

Moderators that change topics and the posters content at there whim to side up with other members is BS.

I don't.
Thumbs up to the mods for their time & dedication.
And I'll try to promise to try to restrain myself & not make their life more difficult.

Get a hubmotor & get a real job.
Clean your act up, & don't be a slob.
Get it together like your big brother Bob.
Get a hubmotor,
And get a real job.

hi all
I know the title is GET A HUB MOTOR but it started out as DISK MOTOR VRS 20LB HUB MOTOR because randy wanted to put his point of view on his dislikes of hub motors and prefering disk or external motors.

Before you come down on me like a ton if bricks randys method of doing this was wrong, he is narrow minded and thinks anything but his soloution is "crap" sorry if this offends.
As a external motor user myself I think a hub motor once bought does not have the versatility of a external motor, but I respect others to prefer hub motors both systems have their pros and cons as posted by Knoxie on page 1 of this thread.
How about getting back to the core of the thread, but without the attitude of closed minds to either hub or external motors, and randy is not the only one with this problem though he is the worst.

I thought the idea of coupling a disc motor directly to the Dual-Drive was rather clever. Ideally, it would be geared and have its own internal freewheel. There wouldn't be much room left on the cassette driver for the pedal drive freewheel, though..... :)

Hi all
miles its not randy soloution I think it is interesting its his way of putting his opinon across thats the problem!

Hi Geoff,

Sure, I've been around on Power-Assist, VforV etc. for 4 years - I just take note of peoples' ideas and ignore all the noise.....
