Good solid and springer/girder forks?

I want to start a discussion on good fork alternatives to expensive mountain bike forks. My dream would be to find an affordable girder or springer fork that can handle a disc brake. I also love the aesthetics of Niner's rigid carbon fiber forks but those puppies are $400+. Finally does anyone have any experience using Felt Abraham linkage forks on bikes that go 35+ mph?

While the Felt Abraham would be my choice of Monarch style springers, Its still essentualy a pogo stick. There is no rebound controll, and no dampening. Its only saving grace is it's short travel. But that makes it less effective than a conventional shock. And the Monarch design has poor lateral strength and stability compared to a conventional fork.

It would be a great fork >25mph, and I'm considering for my Felt 1908, But its a show piece. You need a shock above 35mph, and there is no shock on this style suspension fork.

A highly modified Girvin with a Risse shock conversion would be about the only springer style fork I would consider for high speeds, but the cost of one would be more than a good conventional shock style fork.

i use monarch springers on my wood bike[see,wood bike with motor,ebike general inf] i like them,but,as said no rebound control... my frame design calls fr short travel.. be sure to get the heavy doty type with ss mounts and bronze bearings.. my top speed is a bout 50kph..only problem i had was hitting lampost head on..bent forks a little where the steering pos fork plate meet... straitned and welded them easily

Does any body out there have experience with carbon fiber forks? I know Stromer and Grace have switched to rigid forks, but I still have a soft spot for springer and girder forks. Does anyone know of any companies making for mentioned forks that are disc compatible?
