Very nice. How much battery does it consume?
Nothing after I turn it off! has an on/off button on the side. No idea otherwise. A new battery is probably in my near future. I've probably got 300 cycles on it!

anyone know of a good site for spokes? ... you were right, Jay. of course.
I told ya s...
aah, never mind
Is the nipple from that broken spoke accounted for ? It could have caused your recent flat.

shocked how loose this recently greased freewheel is. i think it's done! it'd probably be in better shape if i pedaled more!
Do you ghost pedal at all while motoring along ? I have mine kicking over alot though usually it has no load on it (ie the motor is spinning faster than I'm pedalling and it's largely for show)

Woot, you sprung for the bacpac. Very useful for not only setting up mounts but reviewing clips in the field.
I know I've shot a few things with the camera off the bike (ie for ride-by shots) and wondered how they'd look but had to wait until I got home.

You tried slime in your tyres ?

Hey

Nice back pack 8) really a great idea esp for longer rides, I want to shoot some ride footage thats over 2.5 hours long so I am pretty sure it would be high in the next list of upgrades, in fact it would likely make more sense to order it with it?

Just 1 spoke? you are lucky, nice and easy to replace, I think on one of my bikes I replaced 15 spokes over a few years  that wasnt an ebike but a normal bike that I used to jump and land hard on, you get so quick at doing it as well, your front wheel could be trued really easily, just youtube wheel truing there are loads of clips on there.

Yes my cassette is the same, I think its the constant high RPM of the motor, It may be throwing the grease out of it and causing excessive wear, I am guessing its a screw on unit so easy to replace and cheap as well, I actually do peddle quite a lot on my long rides so i need to make sure it works well.

The LCD is awesome.

I'm surprised at how many flats you get. I've been getting *knock on wood* like 1 flat every 500 miles or so. Then again, you probably do 500 miles in a week... not to mention the stair gaps

That freewheel needs replacing....

Was it a pinch flat :?:
Think so, but I wasn't riding it hard at that moment... In fact I was going easy because I bungeed my meanwell/icharger on my beamrack... (because my macbook pro lcd got damaged in the AM from being squeezed in my backpack w/ the charger... not sure if it was pressure or magnetic, but looks like a weird watermark in the middle of the screen. usable, but a bit disappointing! i'm definitely pushing that sucker...)
Are you ready for a moped tire now :(
Yep, about ready! Perhaps it's time to have another chat with Mr JRH...

Ghetto tubeless
the moped tire? what's the rim size? spokes? worth upgrading the motor? were you going 47mph on THAT?

Yeah, It really is. Amazing how long I got by w/o one! Here's a longish blurry vid of it, fyi:

It's a terrific accessory for the GoPro HD Hero. It makes the menus much simpler and it's hard to imagine using the GP after you've had the BacPac on, however, I find it hard to see in direct sunlight.

It seems out of question if I refer you to Ilia Brouk, He is kickass providing excellent by using the Sapim nipples and spokes (http://www.sapim.be/default.php). He installed my rear end laced with the 13g sapim. God, I glad accept ilia offer and he laced it. Big difference between cheap ass chinese spokes + nipples from EbikeKitl and sapim own it!

It cost me 87 dollars everything lacing bottom to top.

Hey! Hey! Stop that! Ebikekit.com sells perfectly good wheels and spokes. Even though Greg immediately had rob relace his wheel it doesnt reflect on the quality of the rims spokes and nipples Ebikekit uses on their bikes. They are hand built in the USA by a professional wheel builder with over 15 years experience. They stand by their work as long as you dont over volt... or over amp... or drill out the covers....make sure to use every side walk ramp....dont hop curbs.... as long as you are not fat.... dont exceed 48v and 27-28mph or otherwise use the wheel for anything other or outside the specs that it was intended to be used for.... I dont have a problem with the spoke and nipples just the lace pattern. I changed mine to suit my fluffy junk in the trunk ass. So dont bad mouth Jason and his company.... its bad publicity for him and he doesnt appreciate it.. Whenever you mention his product you need to make sure you mention how you were using it and how you were running double the specs on everything before you say his product is crap....its the bees kneees!

Im funking around with you chroot..... yeah they suck sucks for what we are using it for.

@icecube57 - Read Carefully, I said Ebikekit somehow uses chinese spokes and nipples for cheaper price. I had Ilia Brouk re-true and balance my EbikeKit 9C sudden the spoke was snap out. He told me that the spokes itself is cheap chinese component. He replace entire with the sipam spokes and nippes laced with my 9C hub motor.

I said this one is BIGGEST DIFFERENCE compare the stock came with the EbikeKit 9C motor vs upgraded sapim spokes.

Give me a break, I didnt say word "Jason" or crap product. I am referring to the EbikeKit that uses cheap ass chinese components. No offense. I saw my own eyes at Ilia Brouk's shop in SF couple weeks ago with Edward Lyen.

Again, I meant say that out of question refer to Ilia Brouk because he is in SF and Greg aka GCinDC is in Washington DC. Stop putting your foot in mouth bark at the tree. sighs

Have fun and see you later.

Dude I wasnt serious about my last post. It was laced with so much sarcasm that I thought you or anyone would catch on. I wasnt putting you on blast or anything.

Personally I have all my wheels hand laced by monks in the hills of Tibet. They use centuries old techniques and almost mystical precision to produce the most perfectly trued wheels. They then wrap them in sacred ceremonial cloths, packaging them well enough to survive re-entry from space and then ship them to me.

Unfortunately, once fitted to the bike if the wind changes direction or you ride over the first bump the cheap spokes stretch, become loose and then fall out or break

 :p

(I joke, I've bashed the living shit out of my rims and deserve more broken spokes than what I have)

Now thats sarcasm at its best.

it was grey and drizzly this morning (and i'm bored w/ my mounts but that's another issue), so i didn't record...

jumped the light, was all alone crossing the bridge. was testing PaulD's death race tuck to gain a mph or two (42mph). was almost to the end (google streetview scene here):
calvert_bridge.jpg
when i noticed a group of people on the walkway. two ahead were checking me out. then i saw one girl jump the barrier (where the pointer is) and start running across the bridge! and she turned backwards to check for traffic coming the other way. i screamed at the top of my lungs "WATCH OUT" which was just enough for her to slow down and not get completely mowed down by me...

and i had my bright light on too.

man that was a nasty close call...

After riding through the crowded streets of San Francisco for a few years on high powered ebikes I started to get tired of close calls with pedestrians. Now I use a binder clip to hold a post card to my seat stay and get the card in the spokes noise. It really helps keep people out of the way and helps me understand my speed without need for a speedo . When I get out of town I just unclip the card to go back to silent mode. I have found that even joggers with earbuds in listening to music can hear the clatter of the card in the spokes and politely move a bit to the side as I approach. Very convenient.

Now THAT would have been a great video!

@icecube57, I thought you was barking at my face. 8)

haha. it seemed you touched a nerve, chroot! perhaps endless motor rebuilds and hall sensor diagnostics will eventually do that to someone...

halfway through, i figured out you were ranting in jest, ice, though it was touch and go for a second! perhaps there was a grain a truth to it?

Greg- I admit, I am not good read in jokes or sarcasm comment. :|

PS. I had to go hit bed early for work in the earliest morning 3am and Had no time reply ice's comment.

Hey Greg

Another cool angle to add to your library of cool angles! between you and Hyena I reckon you have almost covered them all...bet there is room for a few more though 8) loving the voice overs as always, keep em coming
