They are sending some of the over flow here to SA, TX. Our cases have risen about 30%, mostly from the schools, even pre K. What a shame that the Right wing does not like children.

I read the book "Disclosure" years ago when it first came out. (It was later turned into a movie.) It talks about a tech company manager who is working in a company. He loses out on a promotion and an old girlfriend is promoted to his desired position instead. They talk about it and she tries to seduce him. He says "no" and walks out. Later she accuses him of sexual assault. He had accidentally pocket-dialed a friend, and part of their conversation gets recorded by his answering machine; on the recording is him saying "no" several times. She then changes her accusation.
The book goes on and on about the resulting scandal, with lawyers representing each one, the manager trying to seek support from his friends, the rumors in the company etc etc. The engineers who work for him get involved. About halfway through I remember thinking "is anyone in this company, you know, actually doing any work?"
Then he gets an anonymous message from "A Friend" and it says "do your job." And I thought "YES! There's at least someone at this company who is thinking about people actually doing their jobs." The manager figures out the technical problem they are having, solves it and keeps his job.
I thought about this today as I watched the latest Trump tweets attacking Biden and watched Pence - who is not only head of the pandemic team but was exposed several times over the past week to active cases - doing the same thing in person. Social media is talking about nothing but the latest October surprise. And I had the same thought - "is anybody in the White House actually doing their job?"
Because I know they are denying this, but the COVID-19 pandemic rates are once again accelerating rapidly. We had our first day with over 80,000 new infections last week. Death rates are going up - even though we have a better idea on how to deal with it now. And this time most of the infections are happening in locations that refuse to take mitigation measures. This is going to become an even bigger disaster if we double the infection rate, and then we hit Thanksgiving (and Christmas) when all those infected people get together with their families.
I so wish someone they'd listen to would tell them "DO YOUR JOBS." They are running on their record; it's amazing to me that they are neglecting their jobs to spin October surprises. They'd probably be doing better in the polls if they spent as much time working on the problems the US is having as they do mudslinging.

Multi-hour long waits just to vote should be illegal. Carving up the voting juristictions to suit the politican parties wants is just wrong. But it all leads back to the American Way.

Trump and his congress took down or weakened the law that over sees states election's. States have local elections that the Federal government is not involved the just watch out for discrimination.
