Has anyone bought anything from vpower.hk? They are an Ebay vendor, selling hubmotor/wheel conversion kits, batteries, and parts.

Good things/problems to relate about them? I am considering buying one of their 48V 1000W hubmotor/wheel kits, Ebay # 220497274921.

If you've bought a hubmotor kit (they make many sizes), or a controller, or charger or whatever from them, could you drop me a line (or just post here)?

Thanx all.....

e-bikekit.com is doing a special for endless forum members. He's selling motors for $160 in this thread

If you don't mind 20 mph speed, it's a decent deal. Get a $80 controller off e-bay and $20 throttle....and you'll be set. Then buy a battery. $160 + 80 + 20 = $260 for total kit. Can't beat that.

There has been some guys on here who have ordered kits off ebay. Seems to me about 50 % of the people who do that are happy and 50 % aren't. I've heard some guys who have burnt up their controllers with those kits. I went and bought a really nice motor because I wanted it to last 5 - 10 years but it depends on what you're planning on doing with it.

I ordered two 48v batteries from them and they were both good. I later ordered a bike kit from them and to be blunt - it was a piece of junk. The shipping box was OK but the rim was so badly bent that I had to replace it. After checking the hub cover bolts I found one that was stripped. One of the brake levers was defective and had to be repaired. The light had three stripped screws and it took a lot of filling and drilling to get it repaired. The three plugs had to be re-crimped. Overall it was a bad deal -the only good part of the kit was the infineon controller - to my surprise it worked! I did not waste my time contacting them as the shipping would have been too expensive to return. Because they did not indicate that they were selling factory rejects - which is what I concluded - I will not deal with them or their associates again = They lost my business.

Two 48v lifepo4 batteries from vpower?

What's the email address of the person you've been corresponding with at vpower.hk? It wouldn't be may273@gmail.com by any chance, would it?

Inquiring minds want to know! :)

I inquired about buying batteries from them and the general response from forum members was that they were crap. I've spotted them on the local ebay called "taobao", and they're using promotional pictures of "their" plant which is actually a picture directly ripped off of an Australian manufacturer's website. I think it was LifeTech/BMI batteries, but don't quote me on that: http://lithbattoz.com.au

Here's the ad from taobao, with their logos badly photo'shopped onto all the batteries in the pic:

Anyone who deliberately rips off another company's promo material to promote their own product causes me to reconsider their commitment to producing genuine value.

It's very tempting for me too since I live in China, and their product seems so affordable but I rather not get burned on such a risky bet.
