Has anyone done a bike trailer conversion?

Arrrrggghhh! For God's sake! I've been online FOREVER trying to find this out and nada.

Ok, here's what I would like to do. I'd like to buy a used, 2 child bike trailer. I need to get the kind that attaches to my seat post since I have the BionX conversion kit (hub motor). I would like to use it to carry groceries and dogs for now which means I need to either flatten the sling seats or temporarily remove them. Temporarily because eventually I will need it to haul actual real live 2 legged kids. Any ideas? Has anyone done this?

Remove the trailer and hook the kids up directly to the seatpost attachment. Hang their favorite handheld game from a string just out of reach. Should help with acceleration, range, and hill climbing...
