Im looking into buying my first moped. I looked around on Craigslist but theres nothing decent for sale within a reasonable distance of me. I tried amazon and ebay but they dont carry anything larger than 50cc, and I was looking for something closer to 150cc.

I found a few sites that looked ok, but after googling around I found a lot of complaints about 2 of them. The other one, Ive found one or two complaints but they appear to be pretty standard stuff, not like 'this place is a scam' type stuff.

So, has anyone ever bought from or dealt with powerrideoutlet? They SEEM to be on the up and up but I figure Id ask around before actually buying.

This is the bike Im thinking of getting here:

If it's over 50cc it's not a moped. If it doesn't have pedals it's not a moped. If it's gas engined there's not so many people around here that are into that.

$900? I can top that. http://www.powersportsmax.com/index.php/cPath/38_94 In California you are required to be at least 150cc to ride on the freeway. 150cc Chinese scooter will struggle for freeway speed. But a freeway speed electric under $1k is going to be hard to come by just yet.

Company with complaints? About how long it took to get the bike or about the quality of the bike? Hard to picture a Chinese bike that doesn't have problems. Tell you what, you get one of these, if the engine quits on you come back and we'll tell you how to convert it.

Powersportsmax is one of the ones I looked at but decided to avoid. If you google them, theres a LOT of bad reviews. Apparently the also operate under other names too, but its all the same company; powersportsmax.com, bike2go.com, and deeal inc.

Theres too many bad reviews and horror stories for me to want to buy from them, even if its cheaper.

EDIT: Also note that the one I was thinking of buying has free shipping. The ones from powersportsmax you have to add $240 or more for shipping, so even though the bike itself is $700, the total ends up being $940.

Trust me when I say you do not want to buy a scooter from this company..... I spent $4,000 on two 150cc scooters... not only did my first IceBear arrived two months after I ordered it...... grinding disc pads exhaust smoking...... but my room still has not come...... they do not honor their return policy or anything that they say warranty xcetera...... but after contacting Better Business Bureau about 3 weeks ago they just got back to me and after numerous failed attempts to get ahold of this company they tell me the company is MIA now!...... these people are scam artist rip offs and should be ashamed of themselves!! I am a very firm believer in karma!!
