Having Problems! help me please!

After changing my BMS, I cannot discharge at all. I have the problem figured down to one cell group in my battery, after a charge all cells are around 3.7v except one is still at 3.35, I bought a single cell charger from voltfreaks. what is the best way to charge the singe cell group? I would rather not open up the battery.

Hmmmmm... I'm getting the sense you didn't test it?

Oh well, so much tougher to solve without incremental testing to identify the exact problem. Identifying the exact problem is half the solution!

Anyways, I suppose it's theoretically possible to charge the cell group through the sensor wires without tearing up the duct-tape... BUT... the resistance of the tiny wires is going to cause a voltage drop that might not charge your batteries, and if they do(Well, I'm starting to have doubts about that last thought...), the wires are going to heat up pretty badly with any reasonable currents. But 1-amp might be fine... I dunno. Gotta consult that wire gauge current safety chart.

And, it's pretty easy to mess up by reversing polarities where it isn't obvious. Just make sure the polarities are correct when charging and you won't necessarily be out a single-cell charger.

(And it's interesting it cuts out immediately. Two thoughts are... is everything wired correctly? And, is the controller pulling too many amps?)

I think trying that this is over my head..

Well, not immediately, but after 50 feet or so. I used to be able to go 12 miles before a cut out. I wired it exactly like the old one, with tons of solder. My controller usually draws 23 amps at most, normally 10-15. I think the 3.35 cell must be empty and dips below the LVC when load is applied. Hopefully I can get it balanced again and wont have anymore issues. The charger I got is a 2 amp single cell charger... so I may have to open the pack up huh?

I was able to charge the low cell back up. On the first discharge it felt normal but then cut out at 8Ah, after a charge the weak cell was at 3.35 again. I contacted ping about all this and he is going to replace my pack with one with the new cells, A+ for customer service!

Man... sometimes its funny to look back and see what a dope you were only a few months prior...
I'm sure I'll be thinking the same thing about my CA wiring problems in a few weeks...
