I finally received my Trike yesterday and I wanted to charge up my battery packs for the first time.

..but...

I found that one of my packs had a loose wire coming from the charging adapter. I'm assuming it's a ground wire, because it is the thinnest of the 3 wires. I really don't want to remove the shrink wrap of the batteries to try and re-attach it, but is there somewhere else I can ground it? I'm worried about trying to charge the pack without it connected.

It's a pack from Justin & Zev over @ ebikes.ca

Here is a pic.. Thanks guys!

That wire is for the thermal sensor. Unfortunately to have your batteries charge properly you have to find a way to reconnect it. I hope it is not to far under the heat shrink.

Call Justin! Hes very fair and innovative! I'm sure he will have good suggestions

You guys were right.. it was the thermal sensor wire. I called Justin and he told me that the wire looked like it came off from the lead wire and not the sensor itself.

Sure enough, I have just enough lead showing to solder it back together. The piece of lead coming out from under the wrap looked like a twist-tie to me, so I didn't think it was the connection I needed.

I'll let you know how things go after the packs are charged. Thanks everyone!
