Hi Everyone
I'm am new to the forum, and new to e bikes. I am 70 years old, although I have no idea how I got that way. Having recently suffered a broken hip in a cycling accident, I went out and bought myself an Ebike. The bike is a Qulbix Raptor 140 with an Adaptto Max E controller. Things were going well until I reset the stats for the first time after a 15 mile ride in hilly country. At that time my battery showed 60% remaining. After resetting the trip stats, the battery showed 100% and although the controller goes into charging mode it will not draw from the charger because it thinks it is fully charged when I know damn well it isn't because I just drove it 15 miles. The manual is apparently translated from Russian, and that combined with my less than fluent computereese, leaves me unable to figure out how to reset my battery charge acceptance to the proper max volts of 84. If someone with a greater understanding of these things than I could look up the manual on this controller and email me a step by step on how to get to the various screens and settings I would greatly appreciate it. My email is Lemur1@me.com you might even have to walk me through it over the phone, my dime of course.
THANKS TO SOMEONE IN ADVANCE !!!

Hi Springerpanhead. Try asking again in this thread: Adaptto Mini-E/Max-E Owner's Thread. People that use and know Adaptto will be more likely to read your question.

Looks like Metallover had the same condition here where he wrote:

Alright guys, I'm really struggling with my charging here. I have spent hours going through all the settings, doing system resets, and playing around trying to get it to work.
I've pretty much narrowed it down to my battery being "fully charged" when it's not. I'm running 20s lipo for 84V fully charged and about 64V dead. I'm at 3.8V/cell now, right in the middle at 76V.
...
What gets me, is why it stopped working all of a sudden. My only guess would be in the statistics, I wrongly pressed "reset & set full charge" when it wasn't fully charged?
Then read the 4 replies that follow this, especially ridethelightning's post, the part about being able to charge past the 100% reading.

Hi Mark5
Looked at the post from Metallover and I'm certain that we have or had in his case the same problem. Then I tried to find the post from Ridethelightning about charging past 100% and could not seem to locate the post. If you could do one of your press heres like you did for the Metallover post that would be awesome THANKS Springerpanhead.

ridethelightning replied on the next page right here. You could just ask Metallover how he fixed it since it happened last year.

There's also a thread about your Qulbix Raptor 140. You could ask there.

There ought to be a way to manipulate your Adaptto's settings to allow further charging. Otherwise you're going to have to use an external charger temporarily to fully charge your lipo packs.

HOLY FROCK! your first ebike is a Qulbix Raptor 140 with an Adaptto Max E controller and your 70... are you terminally ill and wanna go out with a grin on your face??

Hi Willow
Actually I still drive my 1957 Harley Panhead Chopper a la Easy Riders movie, but kick starting the old beast is getting to be a real bitch, and it really sucks off road. I've decided to move some of my riding off road because last September some jerk on his cellphone hit me head on with a pickup truck, destroyed my front end and my frame not to mention the 10 days in a hospital with a broken hip, back, wrist and ribs. Really pissed me off, and now I have to rebuild the pan. Hope that explains the Raptor. Gotta tell ya, it's an awesome bike and I can't wait to get my battery issue resolved. As for the age having spent the greater portion of my working life as a blacksmith/farrier leaves you considerably tougher than the average. Hand to hand combat on a daily basis with creatures that out weigh you by a factor of 5 to 15 significantly changes ones phisiology. Anyway, although no sickness is involved, old age is itself a terminal illness, and crashing a bike with a smile on your face is a much preferred way to go than staring at a wall sitting in a diaper full of crap in a nursing home. Wish I knew as much about computers as you young guys, I'd have had that Raptor back out and running yesterday.
THANKS FOR THE REPLY. Springerpanhead

The only other 5 I know of is one hell of a guitarist, are you related? Anyhoo, I did send a post to Metallover no reply yet but it was late last night when I sent it. Am going to check out the Ridethelightning post right now. I received a reply from Oleg at Adaptto but in my compuignorance I have no idea what the hell he is telling me to do, have asked him to clarify. THANKS FOR THE HELP. Will let you know how I make out. Hi Beast
I can sure relate to that knee issue. I think she's gonna get an E-starter during the rebuild. Never thought I would find anything I would enjoy riding as much as that old pan but that Raptor sure is giving it some serious competition.

I really have nothing to offer except my age. Also 70 and don't know how that happened? Adapto looks like a great system, and if the Raptor came with 3 wheels I would give it serious consideration. Too many ER visits on 2 wheel bikes made us go to trikes. No regrets. Good luck with the Hog!
