Help wiring lyen 18 fet controller

I notice there is no power switch on my Lyen controller. On the back of the controller it says tap the thin red wire to the battery positive. Does that mean if I solder the thin red wire to the thicker red wire in parallel the controller will be hard wired on when connected to the battery? Any harm in doing that aside from not having an off switch?

Just get an on/off switch from radio shack or local auto parts and solder in line with the thin red wire. Better to have an on/off switch.

That's what it means and there's no harm. If you want to add a switch later, just splice it in.

i hard solder mine in.. no harm.

I use a contactor with a pre-charge circuit on the high voltage units when possible... seperate from that power wire.

Thanks everyone. I'll probably be back with more questions as I get it set up. My other two controllers were plug and play. I want to make sure I hook it up properly so it doesn't blow up when I plug it in.
